Question about Japanese's straights

I love the looks of these and eventually wanna try one. What I was wondering was how do you store these, is there a certain stand or do you just put it back in the box? I know its kind of a silly question, im just curious how people that own these store them.

Not a silly question at all. They are harder to store than Western straights, as there's no built-in edge protector. Must be careful!

I keep mine in their original boxes, but there are other more creative solutions which I'm sure others will chime in on...

Yeah, they are a pain in the *** to store. I just use the box as well.

I wish I could think of something better, though, as it is kind of inconvenient.

All my other straights just sit on the shelf, but my Iwasaki needs a box

They make plastic covers for J-style feathers. I have seen photos of somebody using one as a J-straight protector.
