Default Inexpensive manly scent for the summer

I don't have $80 plus to spend on cologne. I'll probably do some digging on this site, but are there good scents for the summer that I can aquire at a bargain price? ie knock-offs. Is there a Penhaligan's English Fern knock-off?

YSL Rive Gauche will definitely fit your bill.

TOBS and DR Harris make nice non-complex scents for a modest price. I suggest TOBS Mr. Taylor's.

    Manly? Inexpensive?

    Have you considered gasoline?

(on second thought, perhaps gasoline doesn't meet the "inexpensive" criteria)

No experience with English Fern, but some people on Basenotes seem to like GFT Wild Fern better and it appears to be less expensive. You are right in checking for recommendations here. Also might take a look at Basenotes. For inexpensive prices, check your local TJ Maxx; and/or go to beautyencounters.com for good prices. A long-time favorite with many is Gray Flannel which is really a good deal price-wise.

+1 on the Grey Flannel. Beene's Bowling Green is another good summer choice.

What about Pino Silvestre or Aqua di Selva to get in the same ballpark as BB?

Arden Sandalwood is another great inexpensive masculine fragrance. Out of production but still cheap and readily available on line.

Unbound for men by Halston is a steal. Very good ADG clone, with improvements.

Speick - It's a bit woody with an alpine spice behind it. It's not floral like lavender, but it has a similar undertone. Good all year round, definitely manly, and inexpensive.

How about Guerlain's Vetyver or Lalique Encre Noir?

X2 on the TOBS Mr. Taylor and Speick. I love both when it's warm out. I don't know how "manly" it is, but I also wear Caswell-Massey No. 6 a lot in the summer.

Monsier Balmain, maybe? It's a citrus scent, but not girly at all. Works great for summer. Maybe 20-40 bucks, depending on what size bottle you get.

Try ARKO A/S Cologne (5 scents); downhere about 5 usd for 250 ml. I like Komando and Aqua best, but that is me.

1818 is very nice and the price is good for a huge jug. I like Tabac EdC too, and you can't beat the price on it either.

Ill throw my vote for Rive Gauche as well.

Also, parfum de nicolai has 30ml bottles in the $45 range. A heck of a value for well regarded niche scents.

a litre of antonio puig agua lavanda in the cologne concentration is like $6-8.
