    Default MB Shaving Creams

Has anyone tried any of Mama Bear's shaving creams? Like the soaps they all sound good. I'm still waiting on a soap backorder, because she is swamped after her distributor didn't send her the soap tubs, but as soon as I get my Ylang Ylang soap, I want to order some cream.

The creams are brand new, I don't think anyone has tried them except the lucky few she might have asked to help develop them.

I'm trying the MB Altar of Roses shaving cream right now. Only shaved with it twice. It definitely lathers differently than Nancy Boy and Taylor's Avocado (the two other creams I have used to date). I just switched blades, too, so I can't comment on the shave quality until things have leveled out again. The scent, however, is amazing! I'll report back in a day or two with my verdict. :-)

I used Irish Glen this am for the 2nd time. Very nice scent and close shave. Getting the water/cream ratio takes me a while, as mostly I am a soap user. However, I am very impressed with this cream and most all items from MB. The Sue's and Colleen etc. make outstanding products IMHO. Regards, Bradley

I just got some shave cream from Sue and it was great stuff. From Mama Bear I’ve only tried the soap and it irritated my skin, from Colleen the one scent I liked the Oak Moss my wife hated so haven’t gotten any more. I’m looking forward to trying one of Mama Bear’s creams to see if I get the same reaction I did from her soaps.

Tho I wasn't one of the original testers (at least I don't think I was), I was able to buy some Citrus Basil shave cream from MB before they were available on the website. Her creams are more the consistancy of a thick lotion, not what you may be used to from the usual vendors and they require a bit more water and more swirling than some others to get the lather going. BUT, the scents are awesome (and many linger a bit post-shave) and you get a very slick lather leading to a great shave. Definitely give them a try. If there's a particular scent you want that's not on the cream page, Mama is very obliging.

I have both the Attar of Roses and Irish Glen. I agree they are more thick lotion like in consistency. As far as water amount, they do need a little more water but I tend to start of a little dry and keep adding water normally until I get the lather I want. I found that after the lather rested during the 1-2 and 2-3 passes that the lather got even better just by adding a couple of drops of water to them in addition to rinsing my face. I could have gotten 5-6 passes out of it if I wanted to. I was using a C&E BBB brush.
