Had one of Antique Hoosier scores my first one this good 12 Gillette's in their cases and two STR8 all in the same showcase all $5 dollars each most of them are in excellent to pristine condition.

    2 60's Slims
    3 40's SS one of them 48-49
    1 Gold 50's Aristocrat
    1 Lady's Blue
    1 Blue Tip SS
    1 Aluminum black tip SS
1 55 Black tip SS this one is mine its the one I was looking for. This one I will post a picture of when I clean it up this looks like it will be pristine and complete my set of 55's
    2 plain 50's SS
STR8 Mint looks almost new it says The Fisher for quality has a man holding a fish by the tail and the number 16 on the other side Solingen Made in Germany. The scales are shiny black with a nice inlay of that man holding the fish. Came in a blue vinyl case with the same man and fish in gold on the flap.
STR8 Geo. Wostenholm & Son Sheffield England Pipe razor No. 149. On the blade it Says The Celebrated Extra Hollow Ground Pipe Razor No. 149 it is cream color scales with a shinny black over lay on top of the cream color. Not as nice as shape as the first, blade is really nice the overlay as a small chip in it.

$70 Dollars all in the same case

If anybody knows anything about those STR8 I would love some feedback Rare, Common, Value, Good, Bad, Great, etc Thanks

The one in the lower left is an early Tech, I have another like it. I'm part way through the cleaning and I'll check for any stamps. Made in England I think as are one of the three bigger Techs and one of the silver tipped SSs. The one on the far right is an Aristocrat Jr, flat baseplate and made in England too. The long tapered handle TTO is a bit of a mystery to me... i thought I found another thread with something like it, 60's or 70's. Can't remember the name. Going to hunt for it again. Can't remember if it was here or shavemyface.com

Gillette Knack, I think (USA). Different moniker across the pond, but I can't recall.

    Found at antique stores:
1969 Gillette black handle adjustable, with original case and blades, near mint. $9
    1955 Gillette Superspeed. $3
    1951 Gillette Tech. $5
Gillette Tech, Gold, No Date in case. $4
Red case (for my 40's NDC that I found in an antique store for $5 and cleaned up last week). $3
Several mugs (collecting these started this whole deal for me)

Found at my dad's under the cabinet. It belonged to my grandpa:
1967 Gillette Slim Adjustable in Near Ment in the case. FREE

    CIMG1479a.jpg

I haven't cleaned the Black handle yet, that's just how I got it. The Slim has just been scrubbed with scrubbing bubbles.

    Also, in the mail:
    T&H Limes travel tube
    T&H Almond travel tube
Honeybee soap (Green Tea, Sandalwood Vanilla, VS for Men, Yuzu)
TOBS Shave Shop in a tub
    Rivivage soap

Made out like a bandit. Ok, now I'm done for awhile....already can't decide what to use every morning...

Default British Travel Kit w/ Gillette Razor

Found this on an online antique dealer. Looks brand new. Dealer says the original cardboard "blade" is still in the razor. I travel quite a bit on business and have been looking for a travel set like this for sometime. The dealer thinks it is a 1940's kit. Can anyone tell by looking at the razor? I have never used a Gillette 3 piece, looking forward to it.

Two acquisitions to report. First, one of my Great Grand Father's straight razors. It was sold by the Van Camp Hardware and Iron Co. of Indianapolis, Indiana, but made in Germany. It is the "Ben-Hur" model. It has a scene of a chariot race on the blade and carved into the handle. Other than a small break in the handle, it is in great shape. I not sure that it has even been used. Original coat $2.50.

Next, I got an accordian shaving mirror. This is the very mirror I learned to shave with. The guy in the mirror has changed quite a bit. Eventually, I'll clean and paint it, but I'm going use it right now. I gotta thank my Dad for hanging on to these things.

went to Target today with the missus. While I was walking around I couldn't help picking up a Proraso Pre-Post for 7.99 and a big 7 oz. bottle of Aqua Velva for 4.49. Made the trip to Target a little easier to take.
    Cheers,

Ty...Awesome acquisitions!! Van Camp Hardware is a fav of mine. As you probably know it is an Indianapolis tradition as was Vonnegut Hardware also an Indy tradition... started by Author Kurt Vonnegut's Great Grandfather. Ironically, Ben Hur was written by Indiana Hoosier General Lew Wallace. You've got all kinds of Hoosier connections there!

Gonna try to make it up to Indy soon...or Shelbyville area...need to go back to Franklin , Indiana on buisness soon. I'll let ya know.

Great finds by several B&B members! TAz, JBHoren, Pig, Wow what scores!

The best thing about that kit is the bottle opener! I have an English Gillette 3 piece with the same handle, it's about 50 years old.

British, and nothing to strain tea with? Obviously a defective kit!

    Nice snag!
