Default So if you had a friend in England right now...

What would you have them bring back for you? I have four friends in England and one in Germany - all studying abroad. They all come back for school next semester.

I'd like some suggestions for what I should ask for, I was thinking maybe a few soaps.

I've got a good friend going over in two weeks. I'm going to hit her up for something from ToBS or Truefitt. I'll give her some cash and have her pick out a shaving cream or AS or something that she likes.

I'd ask my friend in England to bring me back an Edwin Jagger Georgian DE.

Irisch Moos. Really, everything else mentioned so far isn't that hard to find in the states, or even from companies like the English Shaving Company for much less than your friends would pay to buy it due to lack of VAT.

Irisch Moos is not available to buy here in the UK. In fact you have an easier time of it finding Hens Teeth and Rocking Horse droppings that that stuff.

I'm trying to get my hands on some Irisch Moos and Im think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and order direct from Germany and pay their silly prices. The Pound against the Euro right now is almost 1:1 and shipping across europe is absurd with the shipping costs almost equalling the price of the products in some cases.

I'd say to go for the cheap but good stuff we have such as the European Palmolive cream and sticks, Erasmic sticks now it's tallow again, Boots stuff, Tabac and so forth.

I think you can get the more expensive 3Ts as cheaply as we can as it's not generally available in most places and we have to buy it on the web too!

Razors are not easy to find either.

Don't expect too much from the guy from Germany. He's got to order most of the well known stuff, too. Products locally available are
    • Palmolive shave stick
    • Palmolive shave cream (European)
    • Speick shave cream
    • Speick shave stick (in my experience harder to find)
    • some DE blades (Cerrus, Wilkinson, Gillette super silver, weird Personna)
    • Sir Irisch Moos shave stick (in my experience harder to find)
    • Sir Irisch Moos aftershave and cologne (in my experience harder to find)
    • Tabac (they've got a fair share and he should be able to find them)
    • Nivea shave cream (I can wholeheartedly recommend it, at that price)
    • various Nivea aftershave balms
    • some Erbe badger brushes
    • some Mühle badger and boar brushes
    • Hâttric A/S

For the friend in the UK:

Palmolive stick and cream as suggested.
    Possibly Boots soap?
The "High end" stuff, you are as well to buy online as others have mentioned.

    For your German friends:

Schlecker drug store for Irisch Moos stick and AS
DM Drugstore for Tabac cream, Irisch Moos AS and cream (and pre-shave!)
Rossman Drugstore for the above too + cerrus blades and AS and Speick Cream.
Karstadt for Tabac bits apart from the soap
Kaufhof for the Tabac and Moos range (slightly more pricey)
Speick sticks are best found in "Bio Markts", they also do the AS and ASB normally.

Razors are best found on the web in my experience.
    Cheers, Tony.

All forms of erasmic, palmolive, ingrams and boots, try some wilkinsons blades as well and the erasmic brush.

I wish I had a friend in Italy, so he could bring me a bottle of Puro Lino cologne.

They don't ship to the U.S. anymore.

Has anyone mentioned the Wilkinson Sword shave stick yet? I think that would be interesting.

English Shaving Company is the only retailer I've found that handles a DE Georgian. Sure, I could order one, but a friend would hand pick an item for me, and it would mean much more.

You're missing the point. Cost is not my only consideration.

"djh2"..... now that is a familiar-looking handle! I'm not sure what you have in the way of gear, or what sort of cash you wish to outlay but in your shoes I would be sorely tempted by: Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap, Mühle (or EJ) razors, anything from D.R.Harris, Trumper's shave cream or soap, T+H in general, Penhaligon's Cologne, a nice British brush (Rooney or Simpson's)......
I could go on for ages....

Not generally available in my experience! It can be bought from the web, but i have yet to be lucky enough to see it in a shop!

You can get two different types of Wilkinson Sword soap in Tesco and Morrisons amongst other places, just in a bowl and not in a stick. The black one is the regular stuff and the blue one has added silicone. I have tried both a while back and the blue one is very nice.
I have far too much stuff to even begin to list it here...

Unfortunately the streets of the UK are not dripping with 3T's and Jagger.

Just load up on Euro Palmolive if you like it or to trade otherwise everything else is just as easily available on-line and just as cheaply for you (No VAT).

I can't remember the last time I bought a product from a B & M store unless your friends would personally like to make a pilgrimage the Jermyn Street or Jagger.

The WS stick is a different formula entirely and from what I have read considered superior.
