Default FS: B&B LE 2009 Kent Butterscotch

Well, I got it, but I'm not 100% on it. The handle is a bit out of the ordinary for me, the color was oranger than I thought and I overspent on pens, so I gotta let this go. Hope you will enjoy

Yeah I am with you on this one. It looks like a great brush but I think I would have been sold on the Ebony brush. Good luck with your sale.

I definitely preferred the handle on the '08 more.
Still, I can't believe this is still here! Should have been gone in less than an hour...

The handle shape is what does it in IMO. Great color but just an ugly handle. YMMV. I'm sure someone will come along and snap it up though.

Im quite the opposite than most. The handle is pretty sexay, but the color has to go. I would prefer an ebony one if I had to buy one.

It IS a bit orange, isn't it? Reminds me of my daughter's goldfish snacks.

    I'm sure it's a stellar performer though.

I wonder how many people will sell their brush due to the color. I still think it should have been a darker tone. I love my ebony version.

Would you say it matches this color, or is it lighter?

It's a bit concerning. My recent predilection for not-so-cloud-soft brushes led to be selling off the '08 LE, so here's hoping this one is a little scrubbier.

FWIW... I actually put a "Cheezit" cracker next to mine in full light and the BBLE09 was noticeably darker by comparison.

    I measured mine last night...

    Handle is 60mm
    Loft is 47mm
Knot is around 23mm (can't measure exactly)

Also, here is another photo that can give some comparison of the color (since there may be some variation between cameras)... It looks 'buttersctoch' to me! Note that the comparison to the red box and the flash can make it look more 'orange'...

I am not sure if this will be of interest but I have some items to swap if you are interested. If not, no harm intended. Best regards, Doug Robertson

isn't it true most of the vintage brushes people are showing as a better example of butterscotch have all been aging and reacting with oxygen and hot water and sunlight for decades?

who's to say our new le 09's won't darken up and look all deliciously proper butterscotch-like in another thirty or forty years?

    it's called patience, people.

Actually, that's a misunderstanding of what Butterscotch is. Those true Butterscotch brushes are Catalin or Bakelite, and were once nearly white, but have oxidized. Newer plastics may react in entirely different ways, but it has been explained before by those more knowledgeable than myself that it is unlikely that our current brushes will dramatically change in color. What you see now on the 09 LE is what you will see in 10 and 20 and 30 years.
