can i use endcaps from a 40s ss on a flair tip ss?

got a 40s ss razor thinking of parting it out the bottm part you use to open the razor is mared by plier marks can i use the end caps on my 1958 ss flair tip ?

The end caps on a 40's SS are squared at the bottom corners. The end caps on a 50's SS are beveled at the bottom corners just like the top corners.
I don't know if they'd fit. I've never tried it.

You can force fit it but I'm afraid the final finish will be much to be desired owing to the difference in the end cap designs.

But it can be done
