I am going to Paris and then London on business next week. Can I get a traditional straight shave anywhere? Are barber shops only allowed to use disposable shavettes as in the U.S.?

Hi Sombra,
I went in search of the same thing in both locales. The best I found was "Efe Barbers", who are located in two places in London (I went to the one inside the Ted Baker store on Cheapside). It was a shave with a shavette (disposable blade), but it was also one of the best shaving experiences I've had. Check out my review, and others, here: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showpos...47&postcount=5
Good luck, and let us know how you go :)
I don't know what kind of straights they are using, but I know, that one can get a straight shave at:
Truefitt & Hill, St. James's Street
Taylor of Old Bond Street, Jermyn Street
Geo F. Trumper, Duke of York Street
all situated in St. James's
and at:
Geo F. Trumper, Curzon Street in Mayfair
and as far as I know it is possible to book a time on their web-sites.
And at the same addresses one can spend a fortune on shaving-gear... ;o)
I forgot to write that they are in London.
