Thread: Oh Sir Moos!

  1. #1

    Default Oh Sir Moos!

I received a couple of sticks of Irisch Moos from some fellow B&B'er's in Germany that kindly posted them out to a few of us here in Australia.

    Oh..........what a soap!
    Thick, luxurious, masculine, and slick.
    What a shave.
Lovely, and the best scent I have smelt in a long time.

This is everything that Erasmic (non-tallow version) should be, but isn't.
Also, my last acquisition, a stick of Arko, is a great soap, but it smells like toilet cleaner. Terrible synthetic lemon scent........average scent for a great lather.

The Moos has really hit the sweet spot.........and because its a stick, oh the lather just keeps on coming!

I love my Moos! I love Tabac, but I think the Moos beats it by a nose (or a snout....does a Moose have a snout?)

    Cheers

I give the Moos scent the nod over Tabac too.

I think that if you like the scent, you'll be hooked on the Moos. It easily produces a sumptuous lather which almost guarantees you satisfaction. Coming in a practical stick format, I've used it indoors and outdoors with great pleasure.

The Arko stick stands no chance against SIM. I don't care how good Arko performs (yes I acutally owned it and do not speculate here) because the "scent" is just disgusting and an imposition.

Have fun with yours and let me know when you need more. We might work something out here (depending on my time).

I picked up a stick of Irisch Moos from a member on here and after one shave I had to order two more just to make sure I have it on hand.
I am a big Tabac fan myself, but Sir Irisch has taken its place as my favorite soap.

My hands down favourite soap. I like and use others as well, but IM ist the one. Right now, I have 7 sticks sitting in my den.

Apart from ordering direct from DE, does anybody know where I can get SIR IRISCH MOOS stuff from?

I was going to order some from an online store in Germany but with the weak pound>euro conversion rate and shipping costs it proved to be totally unviable. Heck, even buying from the US is cheaper than from Europe.

I have been meaning to buy and try the Moos, but I have a few soaps and plenty of creams going at the moment so I haven't gotten around to it. For those of you who are unaware, "Moos" is simply German for "moss".

Irisch Moos is another one of my favorites - right up there with MWF. I noticed at the link above that there's IM AS and a few other products. Has anyone here tried anything other than the shave stick?

I have tried the aftershave splash and it is superb. I purchased a decant from superlather and plan on ordering a full bottle once he has it back in stock.

I too am a Moos fan. In fact, I believe it may be my favorite as far as cushinous and lubricating shaving qualities. The scent is good also, but gets a little tiresome if you use it everyday.

I love both Tabac and Sir Irisch Moos. Both are great products. I just wish Sir Irisch Moos came in a puck, like Tabac does.

    Fellows,

I'll probably take a flyer and order from this outfit:

    http://winkelplein.nu/barbershopsupl...qecspNqlydEtqe

Could cost $25 to get it from the Netherlands to the US, but i suppose it's worth a go.

I had a stick for a few months and used it a few times. This week I wanted to mix it up and went to it for something different. The scent is absolutely outstanding! Nothing at all like irish spring in my opinion. For me, I find the lather just a bit shy of the lather produced by Tabac, but a solid second best in my book. That being said, the scent really is far and away better than Tabac. I really thought I would only use it for travel work, but it is just too good for that purpose. It is solidly in my home rotation.

Love the Moos. Was a Veteran of the Great Irish Moos Campaign too... My stick still has a bit left in it, and I give it the nod over Tabac as well based on scent.

I recently obtained a stick and was disappointed.

The scent is definitely better than Tabac, but still not that great. I like the Irish-Spring-like quality, but there is something else there that I also found in Tabac that just didn't agree with me (scent-wise). The shave I found to be very similar to Tabac and, frankly, not the best. Lathering of both soaps is easy, but something doesn't work for me in them - I get better shaves with Mama Bear's, Valobra (stick - milled), and Proraso (tub). I will have to try again, but otherwise it is off to the B/S/T.
