What are the dimensions of the Vie-Long. How does it compare to the 16726. I was about to pull the trigger on that one, but will this one be better and have a similar shorter loft? Also, is it a LE like the Grosvenor was (which I love BTW)??
The loft and knot size of the new Vie-Long brush should be very similar to the 16726 although I will not know for sure until they arrive and I can measure them. The main difference is that the new brush comes with a red and white resin handle instead of the olive wood handle. They have been in customs since July 11th and I expect to have them any day now. I should be able to regularly stock this brush.

Oh man, that sounds great! I really love that red and white resin handle, but was disappointed that vie-long didn't offer any of their short lofted brushed in that handle. I'm anxiously awaiting the knot and loft dimensions.

Definitely waiting on the Vie-long. And the Simpson brush of course is agonizingly tempting too. *sigh* We need this emoticon here as it sums it up for me quite well.

Oscar at Vie-Long was kind enough to make a special brush for me taking one of his more popular handle designs and matching it with a knot in two band white badger. I call his creation "El Toro Ganso".

This brush should prove to be versatile tackling soaps and creams alike with aplomb. The approximate brush dimensions are:

    Knot: 22mm

    Loft: 50mm

    Overall Height: 91mm

    Quick Question,

I found the RED IP blades on your website but they are packaged differently from the blades I currently use from West Coast Shaving. Are they the same blade?

    Thanks

Aside from the packaging, they are the same blade. These Red IP blades come packed 10 blades per plastic pack.

    Oh man that looks sweet

Now I really can't decide between this and the 16726. Same knot and loft it appears. Decisions, decisions....

I would really like to see pictures of this Simpson custom when it comes in. I have had my eye on the Vie Long 16722 for quite some time. I can't get over the handle. It's just too good to not have on the counter.

Although the badger hair in the two brushes is identical, the knots in the 16726 have a slightly shorter loft and a slightly larger knot diameter than the knots in El Toro Ganso.

Alright, that settles it. My next brush is going to be a 16726, but it will have to wait till I get back from vacation

Hopefully we see the 16910 in stock sometime in the future as I would like to really see the differences in the hair in something with more of a shorter loft.

I added another Pre de Provence Bath soap this week. The Pre de Provence Agrumes Bath soap is a quadruple milled bath soap with added Shea Butter and has a very pleasant grapefruit scent. At 250g, these bath soaps last a long time.

I have more new products on the way and am expecting a new batch of the Feather Stainless Steel razors to arrive next week. Stay tuned.

Is there any word on the possibility of stocking the Provence Sante Green Tea soap?

That "El Toro Ganso" is a great looking brush, maybe......

I don't really know if this is the proper place to do this, but I'd like to report an overwhelmingly positive experience with BullGoose Shaving. As a new DE shaver, I needed a blade sampler pack to try out. I ordered one this Saturday afternoon from BG and in less than an hour I was notified that my order shipped out. I got the sampler today, Monday, a record time.

Even though my order was small, I was treated like the most valued customer. Shipping was lightning fast, almost like the BG people live IN a post office. I can say that I know exactly where I'll be going in the future for my shaving supplies.

I just made an order, and I too got quite a bit of personal attention from Phil. He is a pleasure to do business with. I even got a personalized, thank you note. You dont get that all that often. It was no form letter, it was a nice real letter.

I ordered a Duke 2 on Monday; it's in a priority mail box in front of me as I type these words. Thanks, Phil.

What?! You typed this before freeing the Duke from it's restrictive packaging!?

Don't worry; I opened it and it is beautiful, my 2nd Simpson. In addition, it's currently enveloped in a creamy blanket of soap for its overnight "get the funk out" prep.
