    Default Rooney in Finest??

Where can you even order one of these from? Classic Shaving has some, but seems to be sold out of many, and I can't even find the Finest grade Rooney hair anywhere else..suggestions?

    Thanks,

The Rooney Finest brushes are getting very hard to find. The last I read is that Rooney was having a hard time sourcing this grade of badger hair for its brushes. Vintagebladesllc.com did carry some but might be sold out by now. One occasionally pops up on the B/S/T but it usually doesn't last long.

And IMO when it comes to 2 bands they are the standard; good luck in your search

I believe that www.Classicshaving.com is the only online vendor with any Rooney Finest grade brushes left in stock. Last I checked, Classic Shaving still had some 2/1 in Finest grade. They may also have some larger knots, but I was only looking at size 1. It is an excellent brush, and my current favorite!

Executive shaving does not carry the Finest grade of hair.

Vintage Blades is totally sold out of Rooney Finest hair, which, as DSB has pointed, out leaves Classic Shaving.

It appears ClassicShaving.com still has a few left, of those I am interested in either the 1/2 or the 3/1:

    1/2 ($290):
    http://www.classicshaving.com/catalo...30/2179868.htm

    3/1 ($210):
    http://www.classicshaving.com/catalo...30/2184121.htm

Anyone care to comment? Same total brush height (105mm) on both the 1/2 and the 3/1, only difference is the 3mm thats shifted between the handles (1/2 has shorter handle than 3/1), the loft (1/2 has 58mm loft, 3/1 has 55mm loft), and the knot diameter (1/2 has 24mm knot, 3/1 has 22mm knot).

Anyone own either the 1/2 or the 3/1 and care to comment?

    Thanks,

I have a 1/2 Finest and as wonderful as it is, I wish it had a slightly shorter loft (my brush's loft is actually 55-56mm which would put it closer to the 3/1 spec). If you're lucky and know your preference, perhaps you can contact the vendor and see if he has enough selection to match your preference. Good luck!

I ordered the 1/1 from ClassicShaving, but they are completely sold out, so I switched to a Style 2 in size 1, which came last week and I like it.

I've delt with Classic Shaving quite a few times in the past, and I've found that when they are out of stock on something, they seem to get it back in fairly quick. You might want to clik on their customer service, or contact us site, and see what they say about re-stock.
