I don't like doing business this way as I think it's bordeline unethical. So before I become really abusive and get chastized by some pusilanimous moderator, I'm outta here. Keep the damn brush.
I think this attitude is quite unfair to the organizers of this brush buy. The purchase process was spelled out clearly when the order window opened up. If you didn't like the process or terms, you should have passed on the brush. No one is doing business with you. Actually, they are working quite hard for nothing to provide you with a unique opportunity. All you were required to do is follow directions and be patient.

Yowza, that's excitement - calm down bud - we got ya covered. If you didn't get a gift cert #, there's a chance you didn't order it correctly. We'll take a look this evening (remember, we got a lot of fellas pinging us) but if you've paid for a brush - rest assured, you'll get one. We always order a few extras in case there are hiccups/problems with the cart.

The international ones likely won't got out until later this week or early next week (they're a much bigger PITA and we try to do them in a batch) so no worries, you're not falling behind.

Just want to take a moment to thank you, and everyone else for your patience. The fella at Kent we started this project left the company, then the person they set us up with after that left, until the third fella was able to drive this through - so the process took longer than expected. We appreciate your monk-like patience, and rest assured, we're going to have raw/sore hands and working nights to get these suckers out to you fellas as quickly as we can.

I think that there was some variation due to the extra brushes. I could be wrong. Either way, let's stay positive. The brushes are here, the mods are working overtime, and we are getting ready to receive these brushes. This seems like a pretty positive situation to me!

I imagine the best we can hope for at this stage, any of us, is a general "hang tight, we're workin' it" - but it's helpful to hear, you know? Thanks for the work, Joel and Nick. I predict a lot of tune-changing once we get these things in our hands, eventually.

I am curious at this point if anybody who ordered one of the last-call brushes got a gift certificate number. That would surely prove that I can't follow directions!

Mine was ordered as one of the original batches...at the tail end of ordering...and no gift certificate number for my butterscotch...just the paypal receipt and the invoice from the system...had created an account as well...and got confirming emails from Nick that I was processed successfully for the butterscotch...so will hold tight and wait for Nick and Joel to work their magic...

Absolutely right! The process was spelled out in detail from the start. Yes, it was rather cumbersome, but no one put a gun to anyone's head and said order or else! The mods did the best they could with the system they had, and it is useless to complain now. While the system is not perfect, neither are the customers! In any case, a new shopping cart system is something I think everyone agrees would be a welcome imnprovement!

Well put, Cheech. Everyone should remember that those who organize this brush (and the entire B&B website) do it for free and probably all have families and day jobs.

Mention of the emails being sent by B&B has paid off. Just had to check my ONLINE RECEIPTS folder and voila: Congratulations! Your order has been successfully placed.

Now the real anticipation begins: Can I start bugging Joel and Nick about them shipping my brush?(you mean it wasn't shipped today?)

After reading all the angst, frustration, and Scottieness("she's heatin' up capn; i don't think she can take any more!) while fretting myself, I have to admit that thoughts of not receiving my brush did not cross my mind.

Joel and Nick are honorable men who devote a lot of time and energy to making B&B the place it has become. As people, we can all understand the desire to have it now-after all, this is what society preaches. In all of my time here, I have yet to see a group buy or proposal that has left the membership holding the bag. how many of us own the BBE, the 2006 LE, or the 1st Kent LE and can say we are/were dissatisfied w/ the outcome of those processes?

For Joel and Nick, B&B is a labor of love(and time, and energy). Let's all take a deep breath, give them a chance to work their magic, and admit that the announcement that the brushes were in has caused us to lose our collective minds! if we do that and continue to exercise patience, we can increase the love side of the equation for Nick and Joel instead of adding to the labor side of it.

We were informed just this morning(I bet there was some discussion as to whether that was the right thing to do rather than waiting until the brushes were ready to be shipped) and it is just now the afternoon here on the East Coast. Let's remember that we are supposed to be gentlemen and not a bunch of convicts rushing the open cell doors of our prison!(even though that sounds like fun....) here endeth the lesson.....

I'VE FOUND ANYTHING WORTHWILD TAKES TIME. I have been extremely busy since November enjoying my second chance at life. Nick and Joel (or) Joel and Nick, (not wanting to slight anyone have been terrific at helping me obtain my gift certificate # since my email was changed and I could no longer view my bell south emails.

I am happy and excited to be receiving my brush and very grateful for everyones hard work to have this deal materialize. By the way, for those who know me and those who don't I am back to my morning run of 5 miles after having the majority of my lung removed in November (against all odds). You gentlemen always remember anything is possible if you JUST DO NOT GIVE UP. Even a nice Kent butterscotch brush

THANKS GUYS FOR A GREAT JOB

I just went to redeem my gift certificate. All went smoothly until, after entering my gift certificate #, I got this message:

The order total amount is greater than the balance on the gift certificate you have applied. Please select an additional payment method to pay for the remaining amount. You can use any method, including another gift certificate.

Because I purchased 2 brushes, it says I owe an additional $10 for shipping. I'll empty my cart for now but please advise once this glitch has been fixed.

    Thanks!

For some reason the system doesn't accept my certificate number - any tips? The number does end with "1EA" so I wondered if that meant 1 each and deleted that part but still no joy.

Can someone remind me how to purchase a gift certificate as mine is for $165
And it seems I need another certificate for $5 to make it up to $170? Has the price changed or did I make a mistake?

I will say the first time last year it was a bit confusing, however this time I was seasoned and it was a breeze. More important for the money what you get is amazing. The LE2008 is worth much more than I paid for it (please don't take this as a hint to make future brushes more. LOL) and yes I had to wait but let me make this clear, IT WAS WORTH IT. Today when I logged into B&B and got a great surprise that the brush was ready to be ordered. I will gladly wait, however I will be bothering the mail room in my office that when a FedEx package comes it must be hand delivered to me.
Thanks guys for once again giving up so much of your time to bring such quality to your members.

Second, when you place a custom order with a manufacturer - they don't just make it in good faith and make $50K+ worth of custom brushes - crossing their fingers we'll follow through... you have to pay for it IN FULL, and when the order is placed. No one has been "holding onto your money" at all, that's preposterous.

Third, we aren't a store, we aren't a retailer and we do not have complex systems in place - we use a free shopping cart system (but we're more than happy to use a more suitable one, if you're willing to fork over a few grand). When you buy a gift cert - it's just that - a GIFT cert, forcing it to ship to the purchaser doesn't make sense to/for the system - and with an order this large - a good % of the folks have moved since placing the order, which would cause a litany of issues. This is something we do/offer to help the group - we're going to be shipping 400ish brushes ourselves, which will literally take us a week of busting our tails, we spent countless hours working with the manufacturer, getting the brush, answering fellas questions, etc.

Fourth, sorry to see you go, but you've just made someone happy in freeing up another brush. Since you've asked us to keep it, we'll consider the monies from the brush as a contribution, and i've just upgraded you to a gold contributor. Thanks!

I know you guys are busy, but I'm in the same boat as a few other guys and need some help.
I have to cover some extra charges through paypal (I goofed up so there's an extra shipping cost, and also, I have to pay a tax cause I changed address and the certificate doesn't cover either), but it says to not pay through paypal. What should we be doing?
I ask here as well as in PM since a lot of guys seem to have this issue as well.
