For some time now, our posted rules in the BST have included the following

Sellers accepting payment via PayPal may not request nor require "personal" payments. Such payments afford no protection to the buyer and are in violation of PayPal's terms of use.


It has today come to my attention that a vendor here has requested such a "personal" payment for a 'paypal' sale.

For the sake of clarity, that is NOT ALLOWED behaviour from our vendors, any more than it is from our BST sellers. In fact, I would expect a higher level of professionalism from our Vendors, who have less credibility if trying the old "golly, I didn't know" routine.

Most of our vendors, of course, are honest, upright, and would never consider such a request, and to those vendors I extend my thanks for your honourable business practices.
