    Default passing on the wisdom

i saw this guy in walmart, looking at fusion cartridges. the cost of 8 is $24(USD). im there thinking man thats gas money for me right there so i went to him and told him about wet-shaving and told him to consider it. he asked me what i used i gave him the info and i hope for his sake he converts because $24 is ridiculous.

Someone was scoping out some cartridges at Walmart last night when I bought glycerin, witch hazel, and a tub of VDH soap.

I recently converted a friend of mine in a similar manner. He seemed to be pretty interested in it. I then handed him a cheap "hair shaper" straight that takes disposables, some blades, a VDH puck, bowl, VDH brush, and an SRD soap sample and said here ya go, this should get you started. His girlfriend hates me now because it takes him longer to shave and he's really getting into it, but he thanks me for it every time he sees me now.

Oh look, my 50th post, sweet deal!

For $24 you can buy a Gillette Tech and a hundred blades.

I have converted three friends simply by ponying up for their gear up front. A tech, some Bigelow, a Rooney special - it's all relatively cheap compared to a year of Fusion blades. They all used to laugh at me when I talked about it, and now some of them are members here and all three of them love shaving in the morning.

    Keep up the conversions!

I though you were going to say "His girlfriend hates me now because he looks like he got into a fight with Edward Scissorhands and lost!"

Every time I buy more wet-shaving gear, I just think of the cost of cartridges and feel justified. My roommates remain unconvinced, however.

I still can't believe you can't get your one roommate to try a DE. He hates his cartridge, and failed at using straights...it seems only natural that a DE would suit his fancy.
Next time I'm over, I'm going to kick them all in the crotch!
Oh wait, you will probably be moving before I'm over again...
