Crack in Brush Handle

I picked this brush up the other day. The bristles are in pretty good shape so I thought I might clean it up and use it. The finish on the brush is in very good condition and it is hard to tell from the pics but the white on the handle has a pearl sheen to it. My concern is that there are two cracks in the handle near the top. The one in front is not that bad but the one in back is very long. My question is this; is there a way to fill and seal the cracks. I am afraid that if water gets into the cracks the handle will swell and ruin the brush? Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing? Oh, by the way the handle is wood.

Thanks

That is one thing I have never heard of before. I might just have to give it a try. Thanks for responding.
