Cheap 1st Strop

I need a cheap first strop and have seen these on the 'Bay. They are quite cheap and I would not be too aggrieved to make a mess of one.
I'm assuming this would be ok for starters? Leather is leather right?

Not all leather is created equal. Some is really soft, and some is rather hard.

Without seeing other photos, I would say that strop looks ok. It doesn't look nearly as bad as some of the really pitiful quality Pakistani strops you see for sale on the Bay.

This is the quintessential inexpensive starter strop. Highly regarded for its value, the Filly, $20 shipped.

EDIT: Sorry, just saw you're in UK.... I think they ship international though. International shipping is $14 flat rate. So total of $34, or 27 Euros. That's quite a bit more than your ebay pick.

They do, international shipping is an additional $14. So the total cost of the strop would be $34.

The Jemico strops are quite good starters as well (German made). They make one backed with linen and at 18" long it is a good travel strop too. Cheap and good!

I have two of these and I like them. I don't know if he ships internationally though.
