    Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood soap

All going well until I hit the same region of my neck that I had problems with two days ago (Area near my right collar bone)

    Mardi gras shave...

    HD with IP (1st day)
    C&E BBB
    T&H Trafalgar
    Alum
    Thayer's Rose WH
    Proraso ASB

Hadn't shaved with such hard water yet...made for serious lather differences! I did 1 pass and stopped there...rather risk a not-so-close shave than irritation all day. I am looking forward to returning home to my regular shave routine.

Great, great super close comfy shave today, combined with some great scents and I was in heaven.

Good shave but I passed on an EDT as I was not really in the mood for a scent longer than the already long-lasting lavender from the balm.

    Default Wednesday throwback

Guess what I got in the mail yesterday? A free Shick Quattro Midnight!!

So I decided to be a sadist and use it this morning... just to get a taste of what I used to have to endure.

    Hot shower
    TJ's pre-shave oil
    SR 3124
    Shick Quattro Midnight (Day 1!!!)
    MamaBear's Orange/Patchouli/Menthol cream
    Alum
    QED Peppermint Hydrosol
    Musgo Real A/S splash
    MamaBear's Sandalwood Winter A/S balm
    AOS Sandalwood EdT

They're right when they say prep is 50% of a good shave. I didn't have any irritation after the experiment, but the sheer size of the cartridge head meant I had to literally shake the razor 9 or 10 times each time I rinsed the blades... otherwise a steady stream of water would run down my face, leaving tracks of missing lather on parts I hadn't shaved yet!

Overall: No thanks, Shick. I'll stick with my DE razors.

Purchased the Blenheim Bouquet items from Ameet. Have to say that I was quite impressed with the items. The shaving cream jar is something to behold...very high quality.
This was a very fine shave and my face felt great all day.

Thank you Ameet for a great transaction.

    Default Post Mardi Gras Shave

    Gillette '61 Tech with Feather
Savile Row Il Bambino 3118 Silver tip
D R Harris Arlington Shaving Soap in the Beechwood Bowl
D R Harris Pink After Shave
D R Harris Arlington After Shave Milk
    D R Harris Arlington Cologne

The Gillette Tech I received from DoubleE is a mild, non aggressive shaver. To get the ol' visage as close as possible to baby butt smooth, I needed a Feather blade and had to pay extraordinary attention to my shaving regime. The narrow presentation of the blade at the safety bar precludes increasing the angle to get those extra wiry whiskers.

    Merkur Progress w/Feather blade
Plisson #10 HMW - thanks Steve
    DR Harris almond shaving soap
    DR Harris pink aftershave
    B&B cologne.

The small HMW held more water than I expected and my lather was kinda runny this morning. I had to take another turn at the bowl to try to thicken it up.
