Watch winder?

I am looking for some input or suggestions for a good (reliable) and fairly reasonably priced watch winder. I have a couple of automatic watches but I'm getting tired of having to reset, wind, etc. whenever I want to wear the other watch. Costco has a winder for $120.00, but I have never owned a winder before and I would love a little input.

Winders are definately one of those things where you can spend as much as your heart desires. I've never cared much for them...I actually enjoy resetting my automatic or manual wind watches. You may consider checking out the sales corner at timezone.com, as I think there are a few vendors that sell them there.

I have read that you have to be careful here as a poor watch winder can actually damage your automatic watch. I + whatever number on the Timezone recommendation.

I picked up one last week for my wife from Steinmart for $15 on clearance. I don't know if they have those in your area but you could check their website for a location. I couldn't find the product on their website but the SKU # is 16215402. Maybe they can ship you one.

It's an all plastic model (no big deal to me) that spins 30 minutes clockwise then 30 minutes counterclockwise then shuts off for 3 hours and repeats. It's not as "silent" as it claims but it works just fine. I don't know about the claims that a cheap winder will damage your watch - seems it can't do any more damage than slinging it around on your wrist when doing yard work! But that's just an opinion.

I have a few and when I got my Rolex I emailed them about this and they recommended not using one. Get remember the reason or if they even gave me one.

Hi, i finally caved and tried one from ebay - a chinese brand with dual rotators (hold 4 watches total) and places in the box for 6 additional watches. Made of burled walnut and very nicely made - surprisingly.

PM me and i'll send more specifics. I've owned it for more than a year at this point and no issues. I've recommended it to two others who also have had no issues. very solid and totally silent.

If you time it right it can be had for as little as $75 shipped.

oh - and if you think a simple double winder will suffice... trust me, the watch acquistion disorder is one of the worst - get a big one!
