Default Anyone seen the new Gillette commercial?

Was watching American Idol last night (I know, I know), and they had a Gillette commercial. The commercial was basically a teaser for their new razor, but it was still cool to see the TTO and earlier razors flash on TV.

Here it is if you haven't seen it. Sorry if it's a repost:

Yes I caught that this morning. Would be nice if the new razor was a throwback to yesteryear. Still awesome to see an item you shave with everyday on tv while society at large carry the notion that the "old time" razor is obsolete.

Just makes me realize how far such a one-time great company has fallen.

Yes, I giggled to myself as I rubbed my freshly shaven face.

"And on June 6th, we'll give them something even better."

SEVEN blades, plus a twin blade "trimmer" on the back!

Not seen the advert here in the UK. Whatever it is, it will no doubt be even more expensive for blade/cartridge replacement.

Of course it will be more expensive. Why the hell else would they release a new product?

I saw it and screamed at the TV when they showed the DEs "bring them back! bring them back!"

Yeah, I got really exited when I saw the DE's, but then realized it was a preface to a new razor...

It just goes to show the power of advertising. For sure many thousands, if not millions, will fall for this ad and jump on whatever this new razor is come June 6th. Of course we couldn't, but wouldn't it be nice if we could show how the "old" razor's are so much better?

    Improved Fusion, with thinner blades.

Improved? It's still the size of a pallet isn't it?

If razors get any bigger, they're going to need their own zip code.

the succession of razors on that video went from great to down right useless... like it's been said before, just shows how far they have gone from quality, like they are showing off their mistake lol

Hey, I'm buying a handle and blade when they come out.

That way, if someone brings up the new Gillette, I'll be able to tell them that I tried it and found it inferior to my DEs.

Also, the handle is likely a loss leader for Gillette or close to it. They're expecting to make the gravy on the refills. Funny thing is that I don't think I'll be able to get a Feather or Iridium into the handle. Oh well.

Anyhow, I'll be one person slightly skewing their sales data. If they sell X number of handles, they're projecting to sell Y number of cartridges.

The only improvements are a reformulated lube strip, 15% thinner blades, and a 10% price hike

There it is. I think they're calling it Fusion ProGlide. Since Fusion already sucks, this one will probably be especially professional at sucking. I need some AOS Sandalwood though so i'm thinking of stopping into the store for my free ProGlide shave from the barber and see how bad it really is.
Ahead lie many fantastic shaves & AD's...But by appreciating #1, you justify #2!

Maybe I'll buy one and just leave it in the box. You never can tell.. 20 years down the road, there be a ProGlide craze similar to the FatBoy inflation that is happening now...... Or i could just buy another DE.... Yeah, I'll just buy another DE.

I too got excited when I say the TTO on the commercial, and then felt kind of sad because most people probably wouldn't even know what one was these days.
