Hey all,
What is the consensus on the purest mint smelling, refreshing AS out there?

Just mint? I guess Thayer's Supermedicated witch hazel would be one, maybe Booster's Polar Ice.
Others might jump in on Osage Rub or SCS Blue Line, but I haven't used these. My favorite menthol is Alt-Innsbruck, but I love the tobacco flower scent.
The Shave Den sells "Subzero" that is a mint and methol combination. It is my favorite and the mint clearly shines in the AS. It is available in a splash or milk version.

Consider that menthol is a base constituent of *mint, I would steer you towards anything that has a big menthol kick.
Then again, you might not like the face-freeze that comes with it. YMMV
Are you ready for anyting? I am: Hurricanedad411.com
I have a aloe gel based AS from Gingers Garden that is pure spearmint. Like chewing gum spearmint. Potent stuff. It's a great AS !
How far over the edge are you willing to go? It doesn't get stronger than Dr. Tichenor's. This is the purest, strongest peppermint you can find.
I should mention, it's a mouthwash concentrate. I've used it as an aftershave. You can put it on cuts and scrapes too.
Warning: if you buy this stuff, warn all family members that this product is a concentrate. For use as a mouthwash, it's to be diluted 1 part Dr. T. to 5 parts water. I've seen people blown out out of the bathroom who attempt to use this as a mouthwash without dilution.
When I splash it on my face, I don't dilute it, but that's up to you. Simple ingredients.
Active Ingredients: Contains: Alcohol SDA 38B (70%)
Inactive Ingredients: Water, Oil of Peppermint, Arnica (ingredient list from drugstore.com)
http://www.drtichenor.com/main.html I think Walgreens carries it.

For single notes like mint it's easy to mix up your own aftershave. There's recipes around for both witch hazel based and vodka based splashes. Throw in some peppermint EO and you're good to go.
I like Em's Place Minty Menthol toner as well. I agree Subzero is probably the best of the genre. Also, Thayer's Super Hazel is no slouch and economically price, too!
