    Default Bay rum recommendations?

I am thinking of trying out some bay rum and did some reading. What are some of you guys favorites? I don't need the most expensive, but am not opposed to paying for quality.

I favor Dominica and McLas bay rums.

I was so impressed with a sample I received from St. Charles Shave, I put it at the top of my list of next aftershaves to buy.

SCS is one of those rare operations that offer products as good as any for very attractive prices.

Dominica makes my face happier than any of the others I have tried. To boot, my better half likes the scent.

My knowledge base is small with Bay Rums but recently discovered ( with the help of B & B) Superior70 Bay Rum. I love it and for $2 - it is one of the best deals on shaving products I have purchased.

For the money you should definitely try Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum. Many people consider it to be a very nice product regardless of the price (myself included!).

Two thumbs up for Master Bay Rum. Thumbs down for Pinaud; I just don't dig the cloves or whatever.

Pinaud. I love it. But then again, I LOVE clove.

Is the Dominica that you speak of, the lime scented?

I love Pinaud Bay Rum. I also really like Superior 70 especially at $2 a bottle. Royall Bay Rhum is wonderful, but in another league pricewise than the previous two.

I like the non-lime personally. I do enjoy Pinaud too, but it lets you know if you shave poorly. Ogallala is nice, but it didn't agree with my wife's nose.

+1 for Masters down at Sally Beauty for all of eight bucks. It's unlike any other bay rum I've smelled, and it's just what the doctor ordered for my face after a shave.

+1 The Royall is extremely strong and long lasting.

I prefer Meehan's Bay Rhum. It's actually marketed as a cologne but IMO it's the best to be had.

it is definitely a YMMV thing. i've tried a lot, including many of the ones mentioned here as favorites -- some are good, some not so good.

if possible try to get some samples.

my favorites are pinaud and ogallala. if the ogallala was longer lasting and more consistent (it varies bottle to bottle), it would be perfect imo.

Definitely second that. One of the best shaving values out there...

I like Master Bay Rum. I like the smell, and it feels great on my face.
Pinaud VI Bay Rum burns like a son of a b*tch, due to it's high alcohol content.
