Aggressive DE razors?

I am new to DE shaving (I have been doing it for about 2-3 months) and I love it. It just keeps getting better. At the moment I am shaving with a 60´s Gillette Slim Twist that I really like. I have read around here that it is a very mild razor. Now I am getting interested in trying more aggressive razors as my technique is getting better. Can anyone give me an example of a really aggressive razor? Any examples for mild and medium aggressive models?
I would really appreciate some guidance.

NEW
Barbasol
Adjustables (on highest settings)

Medium:
Red Tip
Adjustables (on moderate settings)

I think there is more to aggressiveness than gap and exposure. Those are big factors, but the sum is different than the parts.

The new EJ/Mühle head is a great upper-middle level of aggressive. And most people will agree that it is a beautiful piece of gear (I have had both). You might also see about trying a Slant, I used one for the first time yesterday and it opened my eyes up with an incredible shave.

Out of the razors I own these are the ones in the order of aggressiveness (the first is the most aggressive). As always, YMMV.

• Gillette NEW
• Wilkinson Sword Classic
• Merkur Progress
• Gillette Super Speed no date code
• Gillette Slim Adjustable date code: K 1 (1965)

And do not forget the aggressiveness varies with the inserted blade.

I have my grandad´s 50´s Matador Diplomat but I have not tried it yet. Someone said that model is a little bit more aggressive.
I have been thinking about getting myself a R89 Mühle. Does it have the new head? Is Edwin Jagger and Mühle essentially the same razors?

The most aggressive DE that I have used is the Gillette old type. If you don't pay attention to it when shaving, it will remind you.

Of the limited number of razors I have personal experience with, I'd have to say:

One of the Gillette Adjustables cranked open to 9 is pretty darn aggressive. A Slim on 9 with a Feather is pretty serious, but gives a great shave once you nail the angle.

Merkur Slant...another beast that, when paired with a very sharp blade, is GREAT.

I'll also chime in with slant razors as being aggressive, such as the Merkur 37C and 39C. An older Mühle R89 is also a very aggressive razor.

I have the Muhle R106. I hear that the Edwin Jaggers have the same head but different handles. All I know is that with an Astra SP I get some pretty awesome shaves =D. Compared to some Vintage Gillettes that I have it is a little more aggressive.

That looks stunning. Always wanted to try a Mühle. Might try this one out when I decide to take the dive. I do like an aggressive razor.

The grip looks fluted like a Merkur Progress(which i love). is it similar???

That sure is a handsome razor! Would like to try that one. How is the shaving experience with an open comb compared to a closed one?

Every open comb I have used (even the super mild Goodfella) has eaten my face.

The EJ and Mühle do have the same heads. I had the EJ and have the Mühle now and have noticed no difference at all. They come highly recommended.

I find the merkur 11c open comb to be my most agressive razor, I can get really close shave from two passes and never need to go atg with this one. I admit i've never used a slant but its my next razor purchase.

Wholly agree here. I think that looking for an more aggressive razor (in order to achieve a closer shave) is one way to go about it, but simply adding a more aggressive razor into your daily routine (one with more blade gap) dosen't always do the trick.

Remember, the goal is a closer, smoother shave (I'm assuming here). I'd personally look for something slightly more aggressive (like a Red Tip) and then experiment with sharper blades. You didn't mention which blade you use, BTW, you might be able to achieve your objective simply by trying a different blade.

Get an adjustable. Fatboy, Slim, or a Merkur Progress or Futur. Then you can change it up and see what you like and what works best for you.

If it is an easy, very close, and effortless shave you are seeking, and who isn't? You might consider one of the many SE Gem razors. They are mostly inexpensive, readily available and shave like a dream.

I've been using a "1912" for a while and decided to use my Gillette SS Red Tip this morning. Using the Red Tip was just like using a toy in comparison.

+1 when this baby is too mild for you I suggest holding the bare blade in your hands. Actually it is a Fatip (and not a fat tip) and coming from Italy. The same head is also used on the (expensive) Joris OC model.

Nice razor but stay focussed during the shave!!
