Favorite Vodka Martini Recipes

I searched the forums trying to find but didn't find anything specifc to "Favorite Vodka Martini Recipes". I found one for "Gin Martinis" but not "Vodka Martinis". If I'm wrong please "direct me".

"Vodka Martinis" are a weakness of mine and I truly would appreciate any secret recipes any of you might have. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Vodka, Ice Cube and a Glass X 15 or 20. Now that got to me after about 10 years so I do O'Doul's Martinis these days:biggrin:

I like the Valhalla Martini from Dave & Busters

1 1/2 oz. Thor's Hammer Vodka
1/2 oz. Blue Curacoa
1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
Twist of Lemon

Recipe sounds great.

I have all the ingredients ... could be a great "Valentine Cocktail" after work tonight with my wife.

Thanks

As a point of interest, I, and almost any bartender would make you a GIN martini if you didn't say specifically Vodka. But if that's what you like...I suggest a chilled vodka cocktail. Made just like a martini, but without the vermouth. Everything should be frozen prior to making it.

For the James Bond lover, I give you the recipe from the book:

In the novel Casino Royale, Bond's recipe is specified in more detail as made with three measures of gin (Gordon's was Bond's preference), one measure of vodka (grain vodka is preferred), and half a measure of Kina Lillet aperitif, shaken until ice-cold, and with a large, thin slice of lemon peel for garnish (properly called a "Vesper" after his love interest in the book). By the second Bond novel, Live and Let Die, Bond was drinking vodka martinis, with a vodka/vermouth ratio of six to one. This trend continued when 007 moved to the screen in 1962.

You might want to experiment with potato based vodkas as well.

Cheers.

One fifth of your favorite vodka (or, you can use gin)
One jalapeño pepper, or other hot pepper
Vermouth

Split open the hot pepper, leaving the sides attached at the stem. Remove the seeds, otherwise the vodka will become too hot. Drop the pepper into the fifth of vodka and top up with vermouth. Chill, preferably for 24 hours but no longer than 48 hours.

To serve, put your favorite garnish in a martini glass and pour straight from the fifth. Enjoy!

This is definitely a different way to have a martini. Neither shaken or stirred, it's served straight up demanding that you notice it.

There is no such thing as a vodka martini. The martini is made with gin and a glance at the dry vermouth bottle.

Extra Dry Vodka Martini:

Take a pull off the bottle, eat an olive. No glass required.

Chocolate Vodka Martini:
Bottle of stoli
Hershey's chocolate bar
Take a pull off the bottle, eat a bit of chocolate. No glass required.

Vodka Appletini
Bottle of stoli
Apple
Take a pull off the bottle, take a bite off of the apple. No glass required.

Steak Vodka Martini
Bottle of stoli
Ribeye steak - rare.
Take a pull off the bottle, eat a bite of steak. No glass required.

Pour high quality vodka over ice in a "on the rocks' glass. Add stuffed olive or two if desired. Drink. Same receipe I use for a Gin Martini. A boss, long ago and far away, always said to hold the Vermouth bottle over the Martini and whisper "Vermouth" three times.

Use Gin

If I am forced to drink a Vodka Martini, I usually use Belvedere or something similar. I look at a bottle of vermouth then pour the chilled vodka. If it's Vodka its always very, very dry.
