engraving

i notice what looks like a "G" engraved on the ball end of my old type ,i have never seen this before ,could the handle be silver, is it a special model ?

Nice find! I´ve never seen a "G" in "D" on the handle. On the head it means, that the razor was back to the plant for repair.
