I'm in the middle of that snowstorm that's seeping through the midwest tonight. And when it's snowing, there's nothing like cup of Earl Grey tea while watching it come down outside the window. Now that it's after dinner, I have switched over to reducing my supply of homemade mulled apple cider.

Benromach Traditional in a Riedel Vinum Whisky Glass

--A young malt, but reasonably complex and very lively. Just right for riding out the current ice/sleet/snow/freezing rainstorm we're getting.

Less than 3 hours back from a couple of days in London

Visited Harrods Food Hall and came away with a lovely piece of aged Scotch Rump Steak

The wife was horrifed as she thought it would "have salmonella" by the time we got back home.

It's just been cooked in the griddle pan and accompanied by a Yaldara Estate Barossa Shiraz............................................ ..

    It was bl**dy lovely

    It melted

This may be a bit preemptive, but tonight's indulgence is going to be copious (well... within reason) amounts of Guinness at the local pub, as tonight is the annual Great Guinness Toast.

A really good Vibe by Rocky Patel. This is a medium bodied, corojo wrapper cigar. Lots of creamy smoke.

I was called by our favorite (local) restaurant today, which alerted me that the sacred and holy Ahi Tuna with Toasted Sesame Soy Vinaigrette (and Basmati rice + roasted vegetables) was one of the specials tonight. I had it with a Ferrari-Carano chardonnay.

Now for another Belgian white beer.

    And it was Good.

did you drink that out of a styrofoam cup? You could probably get another case of that at your local liquor store.

Sam Adams double bock - seasonal brew that I found in the grocery yesterday.
8.8% ABV but very much on the malty/sweet side of things - can be dangerous if not careful
