More spring cleaning of stuff!

Canadian Gillette Silver New Improved razor 16661 7 -

I would rate this razor as good cosmetically, and fair mechanically. It has a few bent teeth on it which is why I say fair, but it still functions well. The bent teeth are on the very edges, and only one is bent in badly, and speaking of that one, that tooth has some marks on it. Nothing bad, just trying to be as thorough as I can.

The razor has the standard crack up near the top, although it isn't too big, nor deep. There seems to be another slight crack in the handle close to the first, but like the first, it isn't bad and hard to spot.

Hopefully my pictures help. One of my many things on the to do list. Learn to photograph better.

There is plating lost on the two edges of the head along with some slight pitting. The bottom of the twist knob has even plate loss on the higher parts, which in my opinion gives it a nice look. There are a few spots of plate loss on the razor handle, but overall it is in very nice condition for it's age!

Gillette 40's Super Speed - SOLD!

I would rate this razor as good. I don't see a whole lot to point out in things being wrong with it. It has seen use, but gentle use. There are dark spots randomly on the handle, but few. I think it's dirt that's been worn in. There is a tiny rust spot on the inside corner of one of the silo doors. That's about the worst of it. Give it a little TLC and this baby will shine!

QED Rose Geranium shaving soap - SOLD!

This soap has only seen two uses. I was hoping it would have more of a rose smell to it. But it's very nice in its own respect. If you like the smell of geranium, you'll love this! Been up in the air about it, but I'll remain strong and sell this.

TOBS Rose shaving cream - SOLD!

Another one I wished had more rose scent to it. Other than that it is a fine cream! I might have used a clean finger to dip into this once, but after I read of others using a clean spoon or something, I did that from hence forth. Great idea if you might want to sell it later on. So just be warned, but it looks just fine to me, and if others could tell you, I can be very, very particular.

I've only used this 3 times. I'll say 98% full.

I would be particularly interested in trading for some SCS Damascus Rose EDT if anyone has some and they want to make a trade. That's the only one that really stands out for right now. Just got some new soaps on the way so I'm good in that way.

I got the TOBS sample rose cream, and I agree with you, very good soap, not too strong.

That 40s style SS shouldn't be here long. I have too many cased ones already or I would have been on it.

No, no date code on the SS, and it is notched, so somewhere between 1948-1951 or whenever it was they resumed the date codes.

It's a good razor and works just fine, I just find I have some other razors that I like better and I want to try to keep my stash down. I just can't use everything I have often enough. It's tempting to keep it just to see in my stash, but I'd rather this go to a good home and see some service.

Wow Koosh you are da man.

I received my SS today extremely well packaged. Included in the package was 5 new blades to try as well as some new shaving soap.

I can't believe all of that was only $10.00!

I spent 5 minutes with the razor and some scrubbing bubbles and everything cleaned up including what you thought was a rust spot. It's amazing that this razor is over 60 years old and with only a few minutes with a toothbrush it looks almost brand new!

I'll be shaving with it tonight!
