    Thumbs up My new GEMS

The Butterscotch handled one is my Grandpa's and the rest I scored off Ebay for about under 10 bucks.

Barbicide, Scrubbing Bubbles, and either Maas or Brasso will have them looking like new.

Like the Butterscotch handled one especially, my two have cream colored handles....was the one on the right a last production type?

The razor on the right is a Gem Contour, and yes it was the last razor produced by Gem. As for the Featherweight on the left, the handle would have been off white originally. It has yellowed with age. All great shavers in that lot.

The micromatics are great shavers. Especially with TP Gem blades

Congrats! Looks like a nice vintage lot. I don't have anything from my grandfather however I am looking forward to the day when I can hand down some of my razors to any kids I may have.

I think the last Contours were produced in the early 1980's. Dave will have a better idea.

Well I was sure surprised when I slide it out of the box.. I had never seen a GEM with a handle like that.

Actually, the razor on the right is a Contour II, which was the last Gem manufactured. The original Contour was a push-button model with a metal handle:

Your post inspired me to get off my duff and finally upload a pic of my new acquisitions (as of 2 months ago)...

I have yet to use my GEM Featherweight with a decent blade. I got a hold of what is apparently scraper blades. I shaved with it before I realized what was going on. The shave was rough and the blade rusted onto the razor. I have sense cleaned all that stuff off though, no worries

I have two older brothers (by 10+ years) that squandered every single thing my my mother's parents had. My grandfather, being a WWII vet, probably had some pretty nice things that got sold for party/drug money.

A lot of you guys have impressive collections. I'm looking forward to adding to my mere 3 razors.

I have but the Gems into the Rotation and I like Grandpaws best then the Closed bar Push button, the open comb push button and the Conture 2 last.

They go from BBS to Passable. I think I need to mod my tec with the Conture 2 and the Open comb.
