I received my watch a few days ago and I must say that I AM IMPRESSED!
The watch came double-boxed, with a plain white outer box and a nicely-finished, wooden inner box. The boxes definitely set the tone for the watch inside.
The first impression I got when I opened the inner box is that this watch is a beauty. The pictures I've seen don't really do justice to the dial, which has a rich look that you must see to really appreciate. The inner dial's decoration adds depth to the face while the outer dial seems to almost float above the inner dial. The numerals look great and go well with the blued, Breguet-style hands. The subdial for the seconds fits the overall style the watch face exudes, though if I had my druthers I'd have opted for a blued seconds hand (I'm a little colorblind and have trouble with red in some instances), but that's just a personal thing.
The display back shows off the movement well. While we weren't able to get the blued screws on the movement, I was pleased to see that the plates on the movement are finished in an attractive, "brick wall" pattern rather than left plain. It looks great!
The ostrich-pattern strap is more than long enough for my big wrist and feels both flexible and sturdy, making this a comfortable watch to wear in spite of its size. The stainless steel buckle is also a nice touch.
I am absolutely floored by this watch. This may represent the best value I've come across in a watch in some time and I am very pleased there was still one available for me to purchase when I was ready.
Thanks B & B!
