    Default Immediate Onset of AD's

The postman cannot get here fast enough!!!

After lots of researching what I wanted and checking the reviews and posts here on B&B I have finally given in to desire and lust. I just ordered my first straight blade and everything I need to finally be on my way to a good shave. Now if I could just walk out to my front porch and find my new toys!

Thanks to several suggestions from the gentlemen here I was able to get my total price down by about $70, Which taught me all about these AD's I keep reading about. I think I have a serious case of acute immediate onset AD...

    Logic used while shopping:
"I mean after all, if I'm paying for shipping already, why wait and have to pay it again?"
"Well... It is an investment, I ought to buy a nice case to protect it right?
"I'm still well under what I had initially planned to spend..."

So gentleman... whats the best "logic" line you've used when rationalizing the need to feed the AD monster?

There is no Logic to an AD that would make INSANE

Seriously, I should try to finish at least one thing before I start another one.

I know the feeling. I hope there are no withdrawal symptoms with this habit.

compare your costs from the last year of cartridges to what you've spent. I'm thinking that I'm sitting around 4-5 months of spending in the last 3 weeks, and in a couple months I should be down to minimal costs.

Easy. Used it this past week with the GF:

"Yes, honey, it's two hundred dollars. That's less than five dollars per razor, and half of them are salable for 15 bucks each. Four have the original box. How could I pass that up?"

I just tell my wife to be happy I'm not out there wasting money on crack and women like the rest of the guys in the neighbourhood.

Yeah, you can't explain the AD's.

At least with me, they tended to subside as time went on. What I mean is I bought all kinds of stuff, kept what I liked, and sold what I didn't.

I think I'm pretty well set now, except for the occasional brush AD, and the soap/cream AD, and the every so often AS/balm AD. Ahhh shucks, whats the use, like I said you can't explain the AD's.

I do know one thing though, I'm set on my DE's, Merkur 1904, and HD for backup.

Logic? How about, "I want that". That's about as logical as it gets.

The logic of "oh I can sell what I don't want", doesn't seem too convincing. I hate selling my stuff, and would never buy something with the idea of reselling it. I can just see doing it with a few duplicate razors, but it's really weird to me to see people buying and selling partially used soaps.

For me, all the ADs have pretty much subsided except for the RAD. Oh, I'm not actually buying any more right now, but I'm still looking.

Logic? Rationalize? What are these things you speak of? What relationship could they possibly have with the AD's?

Who cares? Unless you're taking food from your children's mouths or shoes from their feet, or spending all the rent money?

I buy something on total impulse. I think about it later and Im always happy that I bought when I did. If you end up thinking you may miss out on it.

My "logic" comes in the form of a scream from my wife. After that, "logic" hits me up the side of the head with a backhand

    Just give in.
The other day I bought 3 used razors at the antique store for $5 apiece.
If you satisfy the AD monster, it will go to sleep for 1/2 a month (3/4 if it sees its shadow) before it wakes up hungry again...

I'm very quickly learning that yall are right... It seems I'll have to adjust the budget to allow for feeding this monster every so often.. And I may need a bigger bathroom...
