Default This just keeps getting better and better!

WoW! I'm finally starting to see the light and to experience smooth, comfortable BBS shaves. (well...ok, one anyways...)
My kit is up to where I'd like it to be:(thanks to my sensei Soopercat!)
My razor (that in my noobness I thought might not be sharp) is actually really really really sharp.
    My stropping is good.
My lathering is almost to the point of perfection (a little shot of glycerine helps with my really hard water)
My post shave routine adds just the final touch to it all, followed by a nice clean scent.....
And there is a certain satisfaction in knowing that I'm truly operating independently of that horrible "consume more disposable crap" mentality (at least in this one aspect of my life).
Plus I think it is the coolest thing in the world to shave well with a razor that is more than 100 years old!
Not sure what the point of this ramble is... except to let others know that the persistence and perseverance really are worth the trouble.
I now proudly proclaim myself a "shavegeek"!
Thanks B&B and to all the fine, fine, gentlemen here who have offered so much encouragement and advice.

I understand. In a way shaving becomes like a video game . . . I mean that you get immediate feedback. You go wrong . . .oh well your face hurts a bit when you are not distracted by life for a day . . . get it right and gosh you can feel the smoothness of your face for hours. A hairdresser asked me a couple of months ago . . .how do you get your face so shiny . . . I guess a clean shave is a rare thing to see.

Funny you mention that.. I was looking forward to going to the Barber and showin' off a bit. He last saw me a few weeks ago and the evidence of my in-eptness was all over my sore face. I told him that it was the str8 shave he'd given me that had converted me. I could tell from the look he gave me he was a little skeptical. I can't wait to go back with my shiny, smilin', clean-shaven face!

The amazing thin is when you get a year or more into this, you'll still feel like it/you are improving.

Yep, things will always be improving. This is good, because even when you think you're doing great, something happens and your shave gets even better.
