I don't think i saw the answer to this but what if the group buy is cut off at 50? What actual effect does that have on the price? I'd be willing to pay more to get this thing rolling since it seems we're in perpetual agony waiting to hit the go number of 65. It's also a shame that 35 of these have to be ordered on spec by the forum's proprietors since so many people bailed.

I don't know. Joel will have to answer that. The intent was to make it affordable for most members.

Same here (except I wouldn't need an assurance: IMO, there is no way these will sit once they come in unless something really really goes awry quality wise, which I think is highly highly unlikely...). I know I posted about a profiteering exemption, but even if not, I'd be willing to front for 1 extra one to be sold at the same price if it will make a difference.

I agree with this sentiment. If it costs a few more dollars, I'd be willing to pony up, but I don't think I want more than one watch.

    Default watch order

I have ordered my watch and look forward to receiving it. Is ordering the certificate enough or is there another step I have to follow?
Lets get some more orders in! I was not one of the original 112.

Thank you for your order. Nothing else to do at this time. Hopefully we can get more orders.

Done and dusted, you all can add +1 to your watch happiness score.

FWIW, ordered #42 (I think), most probably I don't get that number but I tried.

Dang, but if it wasn't for the size of the watch. A 43mm case (and, I'm assuming without crown) is just way too big on my wrist. 38mm is what works best for my wrist, although I have owned a 40mm watch that looked a little silly on me (and therefore, I never wore).

It's a damned fine looking watch, though, the Bernhardt...

I'm late to the party but interested.

How is this watch different than the Officer's watch on the website?

    size: 44mm ( excluding signed crown )
movement: ETA Unitas 6497 ( 17 jewel hand wind )
    crystal: hardened mineral
    strap: buffalo with white stitching
    dials: Brown Roman, 2tone Arabic
    2 year warranty

Price- $249 (email or call to place order)
    NOW in stock!

If this info was given elsewhere, I didn't see it. But then unless it's a TV remote I'm unlikely to notice much of anything.

You can read the description on the front page. Bernhardt has added a sapphire crystal, blue hands, the crown is signed with our badger logo. Limited run of 100 watches. You get all this for $38.

Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but the standard officers watch has a metal case back, while ( in addition to the bluing and the logo on the crown) the sapphire crystal on the B&B LE is on the front and the center of the case back as well, correct?

The crystal-center case back lets you gaze deeply into the beautiful Swiss workings. I like to think of it watch cleavage.

    I agree on all accounts.

I'd be willing to gamble that these are going to be great watches and worth more than $300 at the end of the day -- can almost guarantee folks will be wanting them who didn't get in on the buy in the first place. On that basis, I'd seriously consider buying 1 or 2 additional ones on "investment speculation" BUT for the fact that there is such a strong bias against profiteering on the forum. In most cases I appreciate and agree with that sentiment, but in this case it could make the difference between a go and a no-go. Of course, the mods should be first in line to unload any watches they ended up fronting (IMO, at a profit if they wanted!), but once they've recouped their money... Just putting the idea out there -- please don't flame me!
There's no question in my mind that if you help make this watch buy happen by buying more, it's not profiteering if you sell it for more than you paid later. If anyone complains, you can point them to me or Joel, and we'll explain the situation.

Hmm, possibly interested in buying 2 but with one question. If I do that in order to help the deal go through is it possible to ask if we can get sequential serial numbers ??

^^^ Bets we'll see the last 35 going for around $325-$350 instead? ;p 8%-16% interest flat seems fair for a sudden up-front loan of $10,000 on such short notice....

Is 42 the official count now, or is it something different than that? Thanks!
