    Default Broken fatboy

Ok, so very inexpensively I picked up a broken fatboy. Once I get the adjuster unstuck it might actually be usable. So I took it apart as far as I could- according to the vintagesaws.com instructions.

The problem, it appears, is that whatever held the TTO knob into place is no longer there. I've spent the last hour trying to find a solution on the computer here to no avail. I just can't see what held it in place. An o-ring? A collet type of thing? Whatever it was, it is gone out of this razor.

Anyone have a good picture of one they have disassembled?

    Thanks

Nick Rivers: Hillary. That's an unusual name.
Hillary Flammond: It's a German name. It means 'she whose bosoms defy gravity'.
Nick Rivers: I'm pleased to meet you. My name's Nick.
Hillary Flammond: Nick? What does that mean?
Nick Rivers: Oh, nothing. My dad thought of it while he was shaving.

Onotoman developed a tool for re-crimping a handle groove around a knob, but I don't know how that would work on the fatboy's thicker handle.

edit: and I don't know how necessary it would be either, as the knob should stay in place anyways due to the cap at the end that holds the spring in.

It appears that without the knob stuck in place, the bar which controls the doors doesn't push up on its own. Once you unscrew the knob, you push up on the knob and the doors open.
