Default Modern Shaving Accoutrements - Prototypes

A friend of mine has designed and built a set of 3 items.

    1. A Soap Stand
    2. A shave bowl (with lid)
    3. A bucket or cup or razors (etc.)

    For your viewing pleasure!

Copied with permission from his website ClickBoomPow:

    Miyazaki Shaving Set

Partially inspired by the work of Hayao Miyazaki, the Ghost, his companion bucket & soap cake stand are a modern shaving set designed in 2010 by David Kim. The soap stand can be held like a wine glass making it easier to prepare your lather as well as showing off your lovely soap when not in use; the Ghost is the mixing bowl - his mouth provides a lip to remove the top as an additional lather dish; & the bucket container is large enough to hold all your razors, toothbrushes & other bathroom supplies. All the pieces are made of molded plastic & the mixing bowl as well as the bucket have form fitted recessed bottoms to fit comfortably in your hand.

Straight razor shaving is an amazingly designed closed system - it provides the closest shave while making you acutely aware of a daily ritual / process all while being incredibly fun. Oh, it's completely sustainable as well - you can use one razor for the rest of your life.

The other products shown are Mitchell's Wool Fat shaving soap, a Rooney Super Badger brush & a 1/4 Hollow Theirs Issard Le Grelot.

Nice looking. What kind of material is used? Porcelain, Plastic etc. Is this for travel? Cheers!

I haven't held them in my hand, however i believe the shots above are made from plastic.

These however, are in fact prototypes which, my understanding is, can be made into an array of materials.

Would these photo's show up better if they were a little smaller?

I would never use a white lathering bowl. Mine is black, and I use the contrast between the lather and the bowl to give me one more visual aid as to the consistency of the lather as it is being built.

    Otherwise, nice work.

While talking with my friend; one idea he had was to have lot's of different colors, for instance a different color for each soap.

Which is an idea i like quite a bit if i used less than 10 soaps. I also like the idea of dumping a cream into the bowl with the lid and using it as it's container.
