    On Sunday, I was in Berlin for the 2012 Skoda Berlin Velothon with colleagues. I was on the 60 km course, and finished at 02:25:40, with an average speed of 25.5 kph.

    Whooo hoo. After two forced weeks off after surgery I'm back. About darn time too, I was going a bit more squirrely then normal.

    Squats build to a mind numbing 250 for 5 but it's a heck of a lot more then I did for the last two weeks. No conditioning work as the doctor said to take it easy still for two more weeks to ensure the cut heals and I don't rip it open.

    3mi run. Apparently 2 days isn't long enough to wait before running after doing leg day with German volume training.

    Super light press tonight. More to test out the elbow and the incision then anything else.

    Spent the rest of the session videoing one of the guys trying to do a 185lb one legged clean and jerk, no touching allowed with the off leg. Close but a balance touch on the clean and the off leg took weight on the jerk.

    As it was nice and light I used a double over hand hook grip to get used to it. Was certainly a bit paranoid though, after every set the first thing I checked was the scar/incision.

    Finally got off my lazy butt and did something! I stepped on the scale about 6 weeks ago, AFTER having to go and buy size 40 pants!!! I am 5'8" and tipped in at 245!!! When i started my current job I WAS 189!! That was down from 242!!
    Job started in November of 2009 at 189, April 2010=220, June 2012=245!! Going the wrong way!! Have been doing Beachbody Ten minute trainer, and am down to 224!! Dietary changes and movement!!

    I had my first foot and running test today.

    I opted for the expensive but ( I hope) qualified purchase through a local store specializing in nothing but running goods.
    The tests took about 50 minutes (tried two shoes) and bought the ones the owner recommended - Nike Zoom Structure +15.

    Looking forward to trying them out the day after tomorrow.

    About twice the price of online retailers but a thing I have been wanting to do for a long time.
    Walk into a specialist store and buy quality stuff based on their recommendations regardless of price and looks.
    I try to set myself second.
