Brend will teach you all about patience, otherwise he's an awesome guy to deal with! It takes a while to get to the order point, in particular if you don't know exactly what you're looking for and have questions. I would say it takes about 1 to 1.5 months from the point you have a slight idea what you want to when you receive the final product. If you know exactly all the details and Bernd has it all in stock, it should be a lot quicker. I know it's hard to wait when the SBAD hits, but I am sure patience will be rewarded in the end.
Have a great shave!

Thank you for your kind words SirWhiskers!
I chose the long handle because of a necessity: When using my old brush, the lather slips down the handle and lands on my fingers. Concerning the design of my new brush, I guess the motto here is "form follows function".
I'd love to see your Shavemac brush.
Take care
Ashy
I thought about long handles, but I realized I do prefer short handles because of the way I grip the handle: by the "shoulder", very close to the top of the handle/base of the knot. I currently use a Rooney 1/1 and I don't mind the short handle. I once held a Rooney 3/1 in my hand (longer handle) and did not find it more comfortable as I still used the same grip. I feel that I don't have enough control if I hold the brush by the bottom of the handle. I like some vigorous scrubbing action on my face (I face lather) but I can see how the painting motion could work better with a longer handle.
It's great we have the opportunity to design our own custom brushes, we can then truly pick the combination that works for us, not let someone else tell us what's best. And Shavemac really lets you customize!
Have a great shave!
Hey there RCC,
I really have no idea what the handle is made of but I guess it's resin. Maybe some of the experts can shed some light on this.
Atm I'm playing the waiting game and feel like a 8 years old, hypractive child.
It's gonna be my first silvertip brush!
To SirWhiskers:
We have to thank the shaving god for blessing us with a company like Shavemac. I agree with you on the benefits of having the possiblity to customize a brush.
About the position of a brush:
I get what you mean! Balance (weight distribution) and design are two very important things. The same grip maye feel unnatural and therefore uncomfortable on different sized handles. To be honest, I'm not sure whether I'll like the long handle or not but I felt the urge to at least try one and see if it works well for me.
Really appreciate this thread!
