slim adjustable mechanically sound?

Scored two Slims off the bay, was wondering how to tell if they were good to use. The silo doors lock down tight, and there are audible clicks when "adjusting". So is there a way to make sure that it is adjusting correctly when it clicks between settings?

ensure the silo doors are released or fully open before making any adjustments - otherwised it does not adjust. you will see it works when the adjuster risers rise and lower leaving a wider and smaller blade/safetybar gap
