It's a very polarizing soap. Many love it. Many think it's over rated. It did not work well for me, as I think I may be sensitive to the lanolin.

As far as price, you'll have to decide for yourself. If you love it, then, yes, it's worth the price.

Do I like MWF? Yes. It's nice on my skin (beware the lanolin!), and I can face-lather it easily.

I wouldn't recommend MWF as a first soap, though. Maybe Tabac or Provence Sante Green Tea? My experience is still limited, but I like both of those. More controversially, I also like Williams and Harris Arlington.

If you're buying the dish, not really. Like every other soap with a dish or wooden bowl, it's a rip off. The puck however is inline with everyone else's puck/refill.

It is an excellent soap I've used for years.

Also be careful of where you buy it. Some vendors have excellent prices on many brands but have MWF priced out. $13 plus shipping is the competitive price. Shipping will make a difference.

Very few creams that come close to the "Monster." Excellent choice!

I eagerly agree, except for the heretical Williams. MWF is a great soap, *IF* you can get it to work correctly. It is slick, it moisturizes, it leaves your face generally feeling great. But it can be quite tricky to lather. There is a reason it's an unrivaled top heavyweight contender, but it can be the very devil to lather up into something workable. I love it, but there are some days where I just throw it down on the counter in frustration and reach for an Old Faithful puck of AOS.

If you are nervous about shelling out the big bucks on the puck and the ceramic dish, buy a refill puck and press it into a pyrex dish. I bought a refill puck and pressed it into a screw-top aluminum container and it works great.

Rub the puck on your face like a shave stick and facelather it. You'll end up with alot of lather, more than you'll need.

It is definitely worth it. I just ordered a refill puck from Connaught at about $11 US with shipping.

MWF is polarizing, but the people that like it REALLY like it. Maybe its polarizing nature has to do with water quality. I personally have never had a problem getting boatloads of lather out of it.

My top two are: Tie between Tabac and MWF.

My advice is to buy a puck. If you don't like it, dump it on the BST. Someone will be glad to relieve you of it.

It's YMMV situation. If you think this is polarizing, do a search on Arko!

Just buy a refill puck without the fancy dish. Get it at WCS and you can add a $2 tin it will fit perfectly.

MWF is soap...not the worst, not the best. Certainly among the most hyped. That YMMV tag only lends a sense of rationalization to the whole screenplay. It is (yes...my opinion) no great shake but not to be unduly criticized

I find it's excellent soap. I only face-lather and when I need to add water to the lather on my brush, I add only very small amounts at a time. If I add too much, the lather breaks up.

The lather does depend on the type of water you have. However, this is one of the longest lasting soaps. I have used less than 50% of my puck over the last 1.5 years. The fragrance is that of soap..... But I use it most everyday since the lather and moisturizing properties are great. Just skip the fancy bowl.
