The rules of the game are this.
1. By reading this, you are now playing the game.
2. You can never win at the game.
3. The idea of the game is to not think of the game.
4. If you think of the game, you have lost the game.
5. Even if you lose the game, you are still playing the game.
Basically it's an internet thing designed to annoy people.

Lost the game!
Can not be done. For to win you can not have known about the game. Therefore you weren't even playing in the first place. Once you start you have already lost... The Game can only be won by not losing, which as before mentioned, is impossible. The illusion of winning "the game", usually occurs when someone has a case of swine flu.

I'm not seeing the attraction to this game. I think Slice has it right.

Yes, there are no winners with the game. Only losers. Everyone loses. It's kind of like fighting over who has a worse case of hemorrhoids.

It's like Henry Kuttner's "Left, Left, Left, Left a wife and seventeen children in starving condition with nothing but gingerbread left, left..."
Try and get that out of your mind.![]()

Some folks just have too much time on their hands....
Darn you!
I was winning until you told me about it!
I think.

Somebody's nuts. I don't know whether it's me or them, but somebody is definitely nuts. I just wished I knew, so I'd know, you know?
how can you in at a game without first playing it?
Oh no, it's been around long before the internet took hold. it IS annoying though
oh, and i've lost again (yup, every time you re-think of the game, you lose again, but you must first have forgotten about the game to lose again)![]()

I cleared my mind and in my world, I won.

I have been playing the game for about eight years. Naturally I have lost the game many, many times. But I don't think the game can be lost by hearing someone mention the game specifically or by reading a direct reference to the game. It can only be lost by spontaneous stimulation from internal or external stimuli that triggers a sudden awareness of the game in one's conscious thoughts. So, reading about it in this thread does not qualify as a loss. Similarly, the game is not lost by a player who hears someone say, "Hey, do you play the game?".
