    Default Schick Injector Compatability??

Esteemed colleagues I have a question for the Injector savvy user. I had acquired a few packages of this particular Schick Injector blade and was wondering if this particular blade can be used on any Schick/Eversharp model? I have/use a Schick Type E, I, and L model.

I know the package says that it will fit any injector, but I could have sworn that I ran into a post (which I can’t find) stating that this blade could not used on earlier models or Personna Injector units?

The blade is thicker than the run of the mill Injector/ASR blade. Could someone please set me straight and let me know? Will the added thickness stress the spring/tension on the injector? Where these blades any good back in the day?

Also I also picked up some of these old Schick/Carts and it appears that it uses the Trac II style of loading. Can these blades be used on Trac II/Bump-Fighter handles? Thanks for any assistance in advance.

I'll start by saying that I have not used the double injector blades that you're showing. I don't think you'll have a problem using them with any Shick or Eversharp razor. You'll note that the package states that they'll work with any injector razor and the blades were sold by Schick.

I'm not as sure about PAL or Personna injector razors, as they don't seem to have the clamp spring travel that the Schick products do.

I believe the cartridges are compatible with Trac II handles. Once again, you'll note that the packaging says that they're compatible with all cartridge razors(!); at the time they were made, that was probably the only cartridge format.

    Hiya,

When I used an injector regularly, my blade of choice was some old Personna twin blades. Never seen the Schick twins before, but I'd guess they'd be about the same in some respects. Matter of fact, those blades may turn out to be quite good.

The Personna twins weren't recommended for the older E and G types, but are fine for the later models such as J, L, and M types. I used em all three with very good results.

The twins also weren't for Schick injectors with the hydro feature, and not for the PAL (or is it Personna)adjustables either.

    Hope that helps,

    Martin

I can quit at any time that I decide to. Unfortunately, I have NO control over when (if ever) that decision might occur.

Tell you what I can. I used them back in the day with a Schick adjustable. They weren't bad, but not really noticably different. The are thicker and a little harder to inject. I went back to the single blade injectors and did not find any problem with the spring. I think there were actually more than one version of this blade. May have been a production change. Some were slotted for rinsing kind of sorta.

Like mrscottishman I tried those injector blades back in the day. The only problem I had with them is that they clog even faster than cartridges, especially if you're using canned goo. Best thing for them would be to put them in your museum

    From my old post:

Here are the directions from a pack of the Personna Injector II twin blades. It indicates they should not be used in a Hydro Magic (i.e. the rinsing lever):

Important: Injector II blades fit Personna Floating Head Razors and all injectors razors made since 1961 except razors with rinsing levers, Pal razors, and Personna stainless steel razors. Should these blades not fit your present razor send $1.50 and name and address to ASR and we will send you a Floating Head Razor.... (I wish!)........

I think the Schick blades are similar in size, even if they did not warn people about them......

Those Super IIs are nice and should work in any Trac II compatible razor...
