The local Wallymart carries the ASR SS 10-pack of blades and I found them to be so-so. But my last trip through the shaving aisle I noticed the blades were now Platinum Chrome, same packaging, though. Did not buy any as I just got a shipment of Astras in from Turkey, but anyone tried both and noticed any difference??

I've tried both (SS and PC) and there are actually differences as I've documented here:

Cliff notes: ASR's SS performed BETTER than their PC for me, exactly the opposite as I expected. I had smoother shaves with the SS, but also had nicks if I used them in anything but a Tech razor.
However, they're both far inferior to any "good" brand name blades like Israeli Red Pack Personnas, Crystals, Wilkinson Swords, Derbys or Gillette Yellow Packs (all of the blades I've tried). I save them for travel so I won't lose any good blades, or use them on my wife's legs (not as sharp, won't nick her and turn her off to the DE razors).
