Default Newbie Scuttle Hunt! It's Not Like a Snipe Hunt.. is it?

The newb (although I'm feeling less newbie as the days go by) is on the hunt for a scuttle. I know it isn't really like a snipe hunt as I could just order a new one directly! But, does anyone have a decent used one large enough where the lather can be built and stored. I don't want a really huge one, though. I really like the looks of the newer improved Georgetown G5 scuttle shaving mug. The Dirty Bird original shaving scuttle could possibly be considered. I may even by swayed by a Dirty Bird brush scuttle with a soap bowl. Those are really the only ones I know about. Anyone have a nice deal they'd like to pass on?

    Thanks,
    Randy

I'll send you my amazon dip chiller for the price of shipping, if you'd like.
It worked very well for me, until I found a deal on a DB at the bay and snagged it.

Send me a PM if interested.

I think most people who use a scuttle wouldn't want to part with it, and if they did I don't think you'd save that much.

A really nice 1.5 size from Dirty Bird will run you around the same cost as a good DE.

If you are looking to buy a scuttle from a member, posting in the WTB subforum of the BST would be the appropriate place to do that.

I realize that the sub-forum would be the most appropriate place simply because.. well.. that's what that area is called.

When I first joined I posted in the WTB section. Then I noticed that there were actually quite a few WTB posts in this section, so I thought (what I get for thinking, maybe!) it was an OK and accepted practice to post here as well. I had a lot more responses in this section than in the other. I've actually made most of my purchases as a result of posting in this area.

If it is an unacceptable practice, I apologize and am more than agreeable to having this post deleted. I've went and posted a WTB in the sub-forum. Again, I see quite a few WTB in this section as days go buy. Even though it may not be the most appropriate place, I seem to have gotten better responses, and have spent most of my money.. from here.

    Randy,

I think many more people look at this section than the WTB section. I rarely go to the WTB section. It doesn't bug me, but it's not fair to the sellers you are bumping.

I think the BST moderators should be more diligent about moving WTB threads from here to the proper forum. Then maybe more people would go there.

BTW, the above is said light-hearted, with a smile, and not with anger.

Thanks for the kind post! I never thought about it being unfair to the sellers that are getting bumped. That's a good point.

Maybe more people would go there if they were moved. I'm not sure. Case in point... my last WTB for 'Soaps, Creams, Brush, Scuttles that was posted in the sub-forum had 72 views and garnered a wonderful PIF from Pumpkin (Thanks!!).

The same WTB posted in BST had 238 views and I'm fairly certain that is where the majority of the over 200.00 spent for the birthday boy (some stuff for me too!) came from.

Both posts were clearly labeled as WTB and for the same thing, yet the one in the BST was the one that helped us spend the most money with people who were selling.

Lots of food for thought here. Thanks again for your kindness. It's appreciated!

    Randy
