Does anybody have any info on that brush/razor stand?

Dig the Video...I will say this though...Apparently the camera adds ten pounds to the brush, because I have an emperor 2 and I swear it looks smaller than your emperor 1.
Y'know, every now and again, I've come back to this post, just to watch how easy Joel makes straight razor shaving look. Then I ponder whether I've got the gonads to try one day myself. Then I shake my head and come to my senses.
Well, today, I shook my head again, as I realized something: I caught Joel in a lie!
Watch the video closely.
Now read this post.
Huh? Huh??
Okay, so maybe he didn't lie.
Maybe he's just wanting to use up something that he's not overly fond of. Makes sense -- I don't have the heart to throw out anything, myself.
Or maybe he's changed his mind about MWF after 2.5 years.
I don't know.
Only Joel knows.
Cheers,
Jimmy, who's recently discovered Kent/MWF, but still doesn't have the guts to try a straight razor. Or grow his sideburns.

The Fat is a tricky one. Had you asked me about it after the first 10-15 times I used it - about a year - I would have said I am not wild about it. I've been through two pucks since then.
Wow, that's pretty poor form to claim you've "caught me in a lie." The gentlemanly approach would be to either 1.) Ask why my opinion may have changed or 2.) PM me and ask me. Calling me a liar isn't what i'd call "gentlemanly." Frankly - this sort of behavior is a quite disappointing, especially since it happens frequently. I have reviewed HUNDREDS of products over the past 6 years, and opinions, products and preferences change... doesn't make someone a liar. Ever smelled a cologne, loved it - then gone through have a bottle and get tired of it? If you mention you like the cologne, then go to sell it a year or two later when you're not fond of it because you've found other colognes you like more, or you've grown tired of it - how would you like to be called a liar for changing your preferences?
In any case, as asinine as it is to have to explain why I am now a fan of Mitchell's Wool Fat, when I previously wasn't here goes: a few years ago I moved half-way across the state and now have a completely different water source, which is much softer and radially changes the manner in which soaps/creams perform, based on my previous water source. About a year or so ago, I pulled out MWF for chuckles and grins, and was surprised to find its performance was marvelous with my new water provider in my new location, and as a result became a fan of MWF.
Hopefully this sheds some light on the issue.....

Hey Joel,
My post was meant in humour/jest, nothing more. It was meant in a similar spirit as the other jocular comments in this thread. Perhaps my poor choice of words or terms, but nothing untoward meant by it, other than to underscore the fact that peoples' opinions can change (along with the standard "YMMV" aspect of wetshaving products), in time.
In fact, the post was meant to be complimentary -- a good number of the membership think very highly of yours and Nick's opinions (and that of the Mods) on the numerous products that are out there. And so, when the opinion changes on a particular item, it can be very influential -- good or bad. You, Nick and the Mods may not fully realize the degree of influence you have, but intentionally or not, it's there. (that's part of my mention of the whole socio-economic influence that B&B has). The point, again meant in a jocular fashion, was that no one is immune to the YMMV, even within the scope of our own experiences, never mind the experience of others. Yours just happened to be a good example of why one ought not write any single product off completely, for evermore.
At any rate, my sincere apologies for any offense that my poor attempt at humour had caused. I do see your point in how my words could have been misconstrued. No offense was intended, and I didn't mean for the post to be read in as serious a light as how it was received, or to have put you in a defensive position in any way, shape or form. Please feel free to delete if you deem it necessary to.
Sincerely,
Jimmy.
Yeah, I totally read this as a joke too so I hope Joel takes your apology. I thought the "lie" was going to be the fact that Joel makes shaving with a straight look so easy. He's like a Jedi Master or something. The video did inspire me to try a straight. I'm still learning and have to remind myself regularly that Joel, and others around here for that matter, have years of experience with a straight. Few things worth having come easy.

Great video, the more I read and watch on B&B the more I realize I am doing wrong. Fortunately it seems most of my problems will solved today, when my new hone comes in, I will finally be able to get the bevel corrected.
