VDH closing out at CVS?

Just noticed at the local CVS they have the VDH brush marked clearance, still marked 7.49, the normal price. Guess they are dropping the line. Is this true elsewhere?

A real newby here...I just bought 2 of the brushes at $3.50 each. CVS brand DE platinum blades 10 packs were closing out at $2.00 each. I bought 2 of the last 3. (didn't want to be greedy!)

I'm 50+ years old. Started with a Gillette SS back in the day. I think I was using a Gillette Slim adjustable when I switched over to multiblade plastic razors in the mid-70's.

Are the blades any good?

The blades aren't great, but they'll do the job. They're probably the same Personna blades that are re-branded & sold all over the place.
I was just at a CVS & I noticed that they still had the VDH brushes there but didn't notice if they were on sale or clearance.

Just checked two in my area. One was completely sold out and at the second I managed to pick up the last two brushes on clearance for $3.75.

There's two cvs near me, but I really can't see what I'd ever use them for. I already own two.

Had some Extra Care Bucks handy and decided to check out some various CVS's while out and about. Didn't notice DE blades on clearance but did see some that had the GEM-style blades half off. Also Pinaud Moustache Wax was on clearance. 1 CVS actually had a brush but no clearance sign. So as always, Your Mileage May Vary (YMMV).

Turns out the closest store to me was the only one with some brushes left over. 3 to be exact. Waited a few days after I'd checked out some other stores and picked up 2 tonight for the sole purpose to try and put together some PIF kits. I'll try out one tomorrow with a tube of fragrance-free Kiss My Face cream and a Bic Metal disposable (my other trial).
