I love that video. I love this parody even more.
I quite agree. The 80's (80-86 or so) had some neat bands and enjoyed the birth of videos as a normal tv item. I know the members of the Dark Ages of Societal Behaviour (1965-1980) look down their noses at anything later than acoustical Dylan but danged if stuf like that didn't make me LOATHE political music for the most part. Hey, I am not trying to argue with anyone. Listen to what you like and more power to you. But the 80's brought back dance music, fun music, and a generally lighter air to the whole nation. We hadn't seen it for nearly thirty years and we haven't seen it since. I don't think the whole video era would have happened like it did if not for the high energy, dance and fun music that drove it. Anyone remembert the Go Go's Vacation video? Quite the neat treat. I watched it the other day and it just reinforced my thoughts that people were ready to HAVE FUN with their music again. They drove around in fifties cars and the famous syncro skiing scene still looks cute. There were others that were certainly more well done technically but those early videos from Lauper, A Ha, Men at Work, Duran Duran, David Bowie's Serious Moonlight tour was another. Even he got out of outer space and had some fun. China Girl and Modern Love really worked in the video world.

"Well, if we took the bones out it wouldn't be crunchy, would it?
The 80's. Ridiculous.
"If you were a woman, I'd slug you."
When they spent $100,000 to make the video for Bowie's "Ashes to Ashes" people thought they were insane, now that's nothing and it's not just regular inflation.

The popular, ultimate, and most horrible 80's video:
Men Without Hats - Safety Dance.
I'm sure you can find it somewhere. Remember, the medieval theme with the dude with long hair and the midget......
So lame.

How can you top the great 70's music videos?

And all the "subtle" innuendos of 80's rock. I think Rick Nielsen is using an early model "Fusion" guitar.
