Default Joseph Elliot Silver Steel 13/16 in Purpleheart

Another re-scale that I did month ago. Turned out really nice and the blade polished out really nicely as well. Take a look and feel free to ad criticism. My work has improved since then, but I am trying to show some of my old stuff. The newest stuff is on my blog, but I will not be adding razors for little while there.

I love purpleheart! Looks great! The center pin is nice. I read somewhere you can bake purpleheart to get even more purple but I've never tried it.

It will get real dark if you let a hot blade touch it like ripping it. I actually cut these scales with a coping saw. Now I use a band saw. I got the wood from a hobby wood worker and he told me the oils in the wood when heated are what makes it turn a deep purple to almost black. I like the wood, but I found it hard to wrk with at first.

I do. I sold this one months ago. I have put my razors on my blog and this one is sold. The man that bought it said it was one of the best shaves he ever got and I honed it on a Norton 8K. Now I use the Naniwa system up to 12K so I could only imagine what it can do when I re-hone it. To the moderators, please let me know if mentioning this will get me in trouble. I do not want to get into trouble again. I am trying to put some of my work up since it was posted on other places. I am planning to finish up several razor in March and will place them up as they are completed. I list them for sale on my blog, but they go quickly and I only keep certain blades. I am not a collector, if I don't use them, I let others have at them. Also, my blog is for anyone's use, you just have to let me know and it be quality work.
Thanks for all the nice comments.

That Purpleheart is wonderful. I think I may like it more than Pink Ivory.

If your new stuff is looking better, then it really must be quite something to see because that razor is absolutely beautiful.
