Wade and butcher 5/8ths wedge in?? Bone??ivory???

Howdy,
I recently aquired a w&b and I'm not sure if the scales are bone or ivory, I will try to post some pics later but anyone know how to tell the difference.
Also the blade has a barbersnotch and is stamped wade and butcher Sheffield England with the b circle arrow and cross stamp.

I know this really won't answer your question but I will try. Ivory has a grain that is unlike celluloid, acrylic, micarta, bone is harder to distinguish but once you have examined a piece of ivory (that you know is ivory) you don't forget it. You could try having a jeweler look at it, you could also use a hot pin to test it but I have never done this and will leave the details of that procedure to someone who knows.
