I'd be up for this. If you're after BBQ, I might suggest the County Line on 2222. Also, it's 5 minutes from my house!

County Line is a restaurant (waiters, etc.) whereas Rudy's is cafeteria style and less formal. Not to say County Line is too formal!

Might need reservation for a group at CL but not at Rudy's.

This is based on one visit to CL about 4-5 years ago so I may be off a bit.

I agree, but they do have a great patio area by the water on the back side of the restaurant that would be excellent, weather permitting.

    I love Rudy's though!

How about a Thunderclouds sub place? They probably wouldn't blink an eye at a bunch of nutty shavers.

Salt Lick sounds appealing to me as it's my personal favorite. The new one at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock would be easy to get to and I think they do have private areas. The one in Driftwood is the best, but it is a bit out there. Unforunately it's either way north or way south with them.

Last time we did Poke e Joes and it was ok. We had a seperate dining area and buffet line that worked out to only be like $10 a person roughly. Unfortunately, the food wasn't the best but it's the only thing that was available to us that weekend. Not bad, but not great. We'll also look in to Rudy's and Smokey Mo's, which are very similar. I think Mo's has a private dining area.

After talking with my travel agent (lovely wife), I learned that we will be in Austin Wed thru Sunday of that week. Would love to stop by at the gathering and say howdy. That is, if Kalifornians, are welcome? Have only been to one other B&B get together, a honing class by Joel, but it was fun. Looking forward to it.

Mike, I'll cast another vote for Salt Lick. Too bad there's nothing in between and I'd agree the Driftwood location would be a bit more difficult. And yes, I live in Round Rock....

The one in Round Rock will be easy access from IH35. Just take 79 east about 4 miles.

Heh. I'm pretty sure that I'll be in the minority here, and that's ok, but I live 5 miles from the Driftwood Salt Lick.

Say, I may have missed this: are we looking at a mid-day or evening meeting?

He said a lunch, but didn't specify a time. I was wondering as well.

I get back from a vacation the night before. If I'm in traveling shape I'll appear.

Meeting will be over lunch. Exact time will depend on restaurant availability, which Scorpio is working on when he gets a chance this week. Should have something by this weekend on that.

Weather permitting... We are supposed to get snow tomorrow. In central Texas If it sticks to the roads we are going to be in trouble.
