Skin Bracer - Me likes!

So, at the suggestion of several people here, I tried out some Skin Bracer this morning.
EEH! a bit strong on the cooling effect, but my skin was soft and irritation alllll day long. Between that and my great shave job, I was bbs till after 5pm and I shaved around 6:30.

+1 for skin bracer. Cost me under $10 and worked pretty darn well. A lot better than the old spice, for sure!

I like everything about Skin Bracer, except it leaves me a little too oily :thumbdown Still use it though. Small price to pay I guess.

Skin Bracer was what my Dad used, ergo that's what I used when I started shaving in '63. A coupla years later, I had to be different, and did so with Aqua Velva. Coming back to DE shaving, I now use both, and Skin Bracer reminds me of my Dad (RIP).

Hehe I remember that stuff! Never used it my self but, man I swear I remember seeing my dad use it. Maybe I was just imagining it?

Anyhow, how would you rate it against Aqua Velva?

Skin Bracer has thus far been my find of the year. Never used it before, and always ignored it. Well, it's now a permanent part of my rotation.

I'm fairly certain my grandfather used Skin Bracer, which is why I think I enjoy aftershaves with that "Brisk" scent so much. It smells manly and cowboy-esque to me which is exactly how I envisioned him.

Anybody associate the smell with something completely different? I think it would be great if somebody else associated it with sometihng like an Italian tough-guy from New York.

Good stuff! I've used it off and on for years. I just recently discovered Flag & Sail Brisk, which is the discount bargain knock-off of Skin Bracer, and it's good too...

That is what I used today, what a wonderful cooling feeling it has to it. The scent lasts all day on me and it reminds me of my high school days.

Skin Bracer is my go to now. I love it.

I don't even like OS, AV any more because of it.

The clove, the mint.....darn good stuff.

The bracer is part of my rotation. I started using it because, my grand father did, so it brings back memories. Does what an AS is supposed to do, although, I prefer the scent of AV. I have been using the Walgreen version.

My dad used it...I remember he had the green and the brown.

I like the cooling sensation of AV Blue so maybe I'll give the Bracer a shot sometime.


He also used the brown Listerine but I'll pass on that. :laugh:

I had only used AV or SB before coming to this forum, now since I went DE all I use is Clubman. I still have some AV and SB, if I had to pick out of those 2 I would say Skin Bracer was my fave but I've enjoyed living the clubman lifestyle AS & Talc.

Anyway though, I stopped using skin bracer because I developed a nasty association between an ex girlfriend and it (I was wearing it, not her :p )

Is there a different scent? Someone mentioned brown skin bracer??
