Default I have no self control

So, my latest binge brought me several new items. Among them an elusive Fatboy that I've been going after for about 3 weeks. I'm not entirely sure what this razor is however,

I think it's a tech. The handle looks very similar to some that I've seen on google. And furthermore, how do I tell if it's really gold so that I know how to clean and polish it?

That looks like a Tech with a ball handle. Scrubbing Bubbles will clean it up nicely. You can't mess with this too much because the finish comes off. It was probably electroplated with gold but its very thin. Nice razor and shaves great.
    Good luck

If it doesn't look like silver then consider it gold. Check out this wiki:

I use the metalwax products on my gold razors, no harm done. I spoke with the owner and he confirms, good for gold.

Thanks for the advice. Now that I think about it, I've got a few treated jewelry polishing cloths around from when I help close a jewelry store. I could probably use those to shine it up.

no, it´s the wrong case (from a 1941 Ranger Tech). Here is the right match. My set is from 1946 ("R1" on blade):

Think of it another way--it's a nicer, more expensive case than it originally came with.

haha, that's a possibility. I was top hog on a $10 Fatboy until someone upped it all the way to 22.50 =O Still hoping it'll clean up nice enough for me to avoid paying 50 for one lol
