Badger Hair

Are there any brushes that use Badger or other animal hair that aren't by-products of the meat industry?
I'm very curious, you don't often hear about Badger farms, and how long would it take to grow a new coat?

I doubt that the hair in shaving brushes is a by-product of the meat industry at all... Most badger hair comes from China, where the badger is considered a nuisance animal. I believe I've read that some provinces pay for badgers when locals trap or kill them. I doubt there are many (read: any) badger farms.

I stand corrected, however, I still don't think there are (m)any renewable badger farms... but I could be wrong again

No, I am afraid you are right there. Downhere badgers are protected by law. In China they are not. It seems they just hunt them for their fur (and sometimes also eat them).

Either way, I bet it's unsustainable
